Democrat Gov Rips Kamala Harris For ‘Blatant Lies’: ‘Trying To Cover Her *ss’
Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro tore into Kamala Harris this week, slamming her for what he called flat-out falsehoods in her book, 107 Days. In a fiery interview with The Atlantic, the Democrat governor didn’t hold back when responding to Harris’ characterization of their past interactions.
According to Harris’ book, she found Shapiro overly ambitious during talks about a potential running mate arrangement, suggesting he was aiming for a co-presidency. She wrote that Shapiro said he wanted to be “in the room for every decision,” prompting her to remind him that “a vice president is not a co-president.”
Harris further claimed Shapiro expressed interest in the number of bedrooms in the VP’s residence and asked whether the Smithsonian could loan artwork for display.
When informed about those claims during the interview, Shapiro’s response was blunt. “That’s complete and utter bullsh*t,” he said. “Her accounts are just blatant lies.”
Shapiro, who was once in the mix as Harris’ possible VP pick, insisted that asking detailed questions during a vetting process should be expected, not criticized. “Wouldn’t you ask questions if someone was talking to you about forming a partnership and working together?” he said.
He accused Harris of distorting the truth to boost book sales. “She’s trying to sell books. Period.”
Harris ultimately passed on Shapiro and chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate during her failed 2024 presidential campaign. That decision sparked speculation, with some observers questioning whether Harris avoided Shapiro because of concerns over far-left backlash due to his Jewish faith.
Walz would go on to face major stumbles, including a poorly received debate performance against Vice President JD Vance and renewed scrutiny over past controversies. Meanwhile, Harris’ campaign collapsed as she struggled to gain traction against Donald Trump, who won a second non-consecutive term.
Despite the fallout, Shapiro has not indicated any plans to leave the Democratic Party but made clear he won’t stay quiet when targeted with what he sees as dishonesty.
“She’s trying to rewrite the past,” he said. “And I’m not going to sit by while someone makes up stories about me just to move a few more copies of a book.”
