A report of illegal weapons activity led to the detention of three individuals in Grand Island – one adult and two minors. Two 17-year-old adolescents and an 18-year-old, Parker Inman of Grand Island were apprehended following the uncovering of two unauthorized firearms. The seizures happened at a residence on East Park Road.
The incident unfolded after Erie County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched to the aforementioned residence in the early hours of Saturday. A tip-off from an informant alleged that a group was present inside a garage, supposedly attempting to eliminate the unique identifier from a firearm.
Upon arrival, the law enforcement officers discovered Parker Inman, who willingly complied with the officers’ instructions. However, one of the 17-year-olds, seemingly leaving the scene from the garage, opted to resist orders and retreated back into the property. He was subsequently apprehended and restrained inside the house.
The second 17-year-old suspect arrested happened to be the residing individual of the property where the weapons were found. The three detainees, Inman, and the two 17-year-olds, are now facing multiple charges, including three counts of illegal weapon possession.
Apart from the weapons charges, each of the 17-year-old boys were also implicated in connection with possession of illegal substances. The residing minor was found to have a bag containing what law enforcement suspects to be cocaine stashed in his bedroom, divulged the sheriff’s office.
In addition to this, the other minor was identified to be keeping prescription drugs reportedly without a valid prescription. Parker Inman, following the events, was transferred to the Erie County Holding Center, where he awaited the impending arraignment.
In contrast to Inman, the arraignment of the two minors occurred at the Grand Island Town Court. Post the legal proceedings, they were entrusted to the custody of Erie County Youth Detention Center. This was the subsequent arrangement after the deliberations in the courtroom.
The New York State Police extended their assistance to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office during the investigation of this case. The collaboration between the two law enforcement agencies ensured a thorough investigation following the complaints, the arrests, and ultimately, the charges placed against the three individuals.
