Chace Crawford Teams Up with Dan Fogelman for Hulu’s NFL Drama Series
Chace Crawford, widely known for his roles in “The Boys” and “Gossip Girl”, has teamed up with Dan Fogelman for a new NFL-centric drama series on Hulu. This series marks another venture of Fogelman, the mastermind behind the renowned show “This Is Us”. This exploration of professional football will delve into the lives of multiple generations of one family.
Christopher Meloni will anchor the ensemble cast featuring Crawford. The veteran actor is primed to play Danny, who serves as the football team’s head coach. Sam Corlett and Tanner Zagarino, depicting his sons, will add another layer to the familial narrative.
The team that the series focuses on is owned by none other than the character played by William H. Macy. Cast as Hank, the team owner, he brings a distinct dynamic to the show. His on-screen daughters, portrayed by Mandy Moore and Chloe Bennet, will be complicating and enriching the family dynamics.
Crawford’s character holds a crucial position on the team, serving as the team’s general manager. More details surrounding his role are anticipated, but it’s clear that his involvement will add a new dimension to the show given his dramatic depth and experience.
The forthcoming show bears the marks of 20th Television and Skydance Sports. The executive production team includes distinguished names such as Fogelman himself, Jess Rosenthal, Kevin Falls, David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, and Jason T. Reed from Skydance Sports.
Crawford carries a hefty roster of renowned roles, including his tenure as Nate Archibald on the hit show “Gossip Girl” which aired on the CW for six seasons. This role brought him significant recognition, setting the stage for the diversity of his subsequent projects.
His recent portrayal of Kevin Moskowitz, or better known as the Deep, on Amazon’s superhero satire “The Boys”, is another noteworthy credential. Crawford has reprised this role in 2022 for the miniseries “The Boys Presents: Diabolical.” He also took on a part in the college-themed spinoff “Gen V” to further extend his character work.
Crawford’s career also boasts several movie roles, having appeared in “The Covenant”, “What to Expect When You’re Expecting”, and “Reunion”. These roles have allowed Crawford to showcase his ability to navigate different genres while consistently offering compelling performances.
Crawford’s upcoming projects already have fans on the edge of their seats. He is soon to be seen in the third iteration of the popular comedy series “Super Troopers”. This venture will place him alongside the Broken Lizard comedy team, a well-known comedy troupe.
Joining him in “Super Troopers” will be notable figures like Jay Chandrasekhar, Kevin Heffernan, Steve Lemme, Paul Soter, and Erik Stolhanske. Also featuring Brian Cox, Marisa Coughlan, Nat Faxon, and Andrew Dismukes, the film has all the makings of a comedic highlight.
Fogelman, the creative mind steering the upcoming Hulu project, is a multi-talented director, screenwriter, and producer. Recognized for penning successful scripts including “Cars”, “Bolt”, “Tangled”, and “Crazy, Stupid, Love”, his involvement builds a lot of anticipation around the series.
Fogelman’s past creations have drawn critical acclaim, particularly “This Is Us”, a sensation that drew audiences globally. However, his work is not limited to this hit series, as he has proven his storytelling excellence through diverse avenues.
One such example is the baseball drama “Pitch” which, although less known, demonstrated his creative prowess. His recent Emmy-nominated piece, “Paradise,” starring Sterling K. Brown further reflects this talent.
While the release date for the yet-to-be-titled Hulu series is not known, the blending of sports, family drama, and a high-profile cast, steered by the capable hands of Fogelman seems to be setting the stage for television’s next big hit.
