Conan O’Brien Reportedly Blocked 911 Call on Nick Reiner Hours Before Parents’ Murder

Conan O’Brien allegedly intervened to stop party guests from calling 911 on Nick Reiner just hours before Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele, were found stabbed to death, according to a new report.

The incident reportedly occurred at a star?studded holiday party hosted by O’Brien at his Los Angeles?area home last Saturday night. Sources told the Daily Mail that a heated argument broke out between Nick Reiner and his father, legendary director Rob Reiner, during the gathering.

“They got in an argument, the father and son,” one source said. “It got so bad and loud that someone wanted to call the police to report it. But Conan stepped in and said, ‘It’s my house, my party, I’m not calling the police.’ He talked them out of calling the police.”

A second source confirmed that guests were deeply concerned about Nick’s behavior and believed he might need to be placed on a psychiatric hold.

“When things really escalated, somebody said, ‘We need to call the police,’” the source said. “The conversation was about getting this kid put into a mental?health hold. It makes sense, nobody wants cops showing up and creating a scene, but the argument between Rob and Nick was pretty intense.”

Just hours later, Rob Reiner, 78, and Michele Reiner, 68, were discovered dead in their Brentwood home by their daughter Romy. Authorities say the couple had been brutally stabbed, with reports indicating their throats were slashed.

Nick Reiner, 32, has since been charged with two counts of first?degree murder and is currently being held on suicide watch.

According to Page Six, Rob Reiner allegedly confided to guests at the party that he feared his son. “I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I’m afraid of my son. I think my own son can hurt me,” he reportedly said.

Other attendees described Nick’s behavior as alarming. One insider told People magazine that he was “freaking everyone out,” acting erratically and repeatedly asking guests if they were famous. Comedian Bill Hader was among those reportedly unsettled by Nick’s presence.

Nick Reiner had allegedly been diagnosed with schizophrenia just weeks before the killings and was placed on a new medication regimen. Sources told TMZ that the medication caused him to become increasingly unstable, describing his behavior as “erratic and dangerous,” and saying the drugs drove him “out of his head.”

The revelations are raising new questions about whether law enforcement or mental health professionals could have intervened before the fatal outcome.
