Anderson Speedway Gears Up for Second Champion Racing Association Street Stocks 150-Lap Race

The second of two exciting 150-lap races by the Champion Racing Association Street Stocks is slotted for this weekend at the renowned Anderson Speedway. This eagerly anticipated event is bound to attract gearheads and speed enthusiasts alike, as the Street Stocks will be met in competition by categories such as the Late Models, the Knapp Supply Ford Division, and the thrilling Thunder Roadsters.

The Tom Wood 150, named as it is, marks the penultimate touring division event to be held at the iconic Anderson Speedway. It stands as a testament to the gripping action and incredible talent that these races have driven into the hearts of fans across the region. The Street Stocks, as always, are ready to put on a show.

A throwback to the previous 150-lap gathering shows Dalton Conner flexing dominance in his winning performance, with Andrew Teepe holding a close second. The race remained dynamic and thrilling, as Josh Ebbert Jr. resorted to skillful navigation amidst an arduous attrition among the leading pack.

A year prior paints a similar picture of spectacle and grit, with victories being attributed to Ryan Amonett and Andrew Teepe in the two 150-lap duels. These races emphasized not just the thrill of speed but the sheer determination and prowess of the competitors.

Going back as far as 2019, Brett Hudson has been a standout performer, with three wins under his belt in these extended races. Additional visits to the victory podium were made by Dalton Conner, Chuck Barnes Jr., and James Kirby III, all showcasing their skill and determination in the race to the finish line.

The current point leader of the series, Alan Williams, managed his first-ever win at Anderson Speedway in a 75-lap race held on April 26, representing the CRA Street Stocks. His lead is hotly contested by challengers Duane Damon and Phil Jenkins. With these contenders on the track, the race forward is nothing short of electrifying.

The local racing rosters have not been left out of the top ten in the series point standings. Our very own contenders Ebbert, James Kirby, and Andrew Cook have carved their spot in the series rankings, proving that local talent can stand against the best.

Kirby has led the pack this season as a two-time winner with the Vores Welding & Steel Street Stocks, showing immense skill and tenacity. Cook closely followed, finishing second on two occasions. Their performances play a crucial role in the unfolding storyline of the race season.

The Late Model division is set to make its return with the reigning champion Jeff Marcum having previously secured two victories in this division. Fellow competitor, Jason Shively with two runner-up honors is another formidable force on the race track.

Marcum has so far bagged an impressive total of three wins this season. These include a cherished victory in the CRA Sportsman Late Model category. His competitive stature is an exciting element to watch as the races progress.

Nash Engdahl proved victorious in the third annual Madison County 200 for the touring Sportsman Late Models. His win was a display of skill and determination, adding more excitement and anticipation to the upcoming string of races.

The Knapp Supply Ford Division is next in line to return to the classic oval action, following the 76th running of the National Crown Figure-8 race last weekend, a trophy claimed by Curtis Chapman.

The oval has crowned numerous fantastic winners this season, including Colin Grissom, Caleb Burge, and Randy Owen. The return of this division augment the thrill factor as we gear up for this weekend’s racing event.

To set things in motion, qualifying commences at 5:45 p.m, while the actual racing roar to life at 7:30 p.m. The anticipation for the second 150-lap race is palpable, promising a night of exhilarating speed and dramatic twists.
