Artificial intelligence Creates Drama: Reinvents Trump’s Outrage at Met Gala

In mid-2025, social media was rife with rumors and speculation around a certain video clip, allegedly featuring none other than former U.S. President Donald Trump. The video showcased the ex-president supposedly voicing out complaints about the Met Gala organizers’ decision to ban him from their annual extravaganza – an episode that he apparently wasn’t invited to and was particularly irked by Kamala Harris’s presence.

The alleged video materialized in early May, spreading like wildfire across different platforms. According to the claims, it spectacularly staged Donald Trump delivering a measured rant about his perceived ban, while pinpointing former Vice President Kamala Harris’s attendance at the same event as a stinging provocation.

The yearly New York_city high-profile event is famous for doling out stardom-and-glitter visuals with celebrities donning lavish outfits, a spectacle that raises money for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute. In regards to this much-anticipated event, Trump was supposedly aggrieved by being left out.

Interestingly, the so-called reveal of the video, supposedly showcased two days post the Met Gala event, depicted Trump sulkily expressing his sentiments. He was supposedly spotted criticizing the presence of Harris in the event, having himself denied the pleasure. Apparently, he described it as a grave misjudgment, casting a shadow over his legacy of added designer jobs during his White House tenure.

Enforcing the narrative, Kamala Harris with her spouse, Doug Emhoff, graced the event. But as it turned out, the alleged video of Trump vocalizing his gripes and declaring it the fashion industry’s scandal of the century was a sham, birthed from an artificial mind, not genuine footage.

The very user who unveiled this video to the world had created other similar videos, all marked as artificially generated. Upon delving deeper into the roots of these clips, it was revealed that an entirely different video was altered to generate the fallacious Trump clip.

The true form of the video, from which the fake instance was created, was one where Trump was speaking about American investments at the White House on April 30, 2025. No mention was made of Met Gala, Kamala Harris, or any scandalous ban.

The engendering of such counterfeit videos by this user was not a one-off incident. Another such video surfaced on May 8th, this time supposedly featuring Melania Trump expressing regret over her marriage to Donald Trump. Thus, it became evident that the account was up to no good.

Clever as the trickery might be, each of these videos was tagged with an ‘AI-generated’ warning. This user’s other videos also carried the same label, further reinforcing the AI origin of these clips.

However, the video focal to the controversy featuring Trump’s lament over the Met Gala invite was nowhere to be found on the user’s account, making it uncertain whether it carried the AI-generated label. One can only speculate about the validity of these AI produced videos.

It is important to note that Trump was last seen basking in the glamour of the Met Gala alongside his wife, Melania, back in 2012. But the artificially-conjured video attempting to convince the public about his yearning for a repeat appearance raises eyebrows.

Another fabricated video surfaced, which attempted to legitimize Harris’s supposed role in banning Trump from the event. This video was also disproven as an unethical use of artificial intelligence.

As this series of AI-manipulated videos unfolded, it magnified not just the lengths to which the AI technology can be stretched for falsehood but also the potential side-effects of such bending of truth on public perception.

It’s a stark reminder that the distinction between real and artificial has gotten blurred in this digital age, making it harder to discern truths from untruths, especially when the characters involved are as polarizing as Donald Trump and Kamala Harris.

To wrap up, it is crucial to actively verify the validity of such circulating videos before lending them any credence. In this cyber age, one can’t afford to be naive – the world of fake news is, unfortunately, expanding as fast as its antidote – artificial intelligence.
