Baltimore Police Nabs Alleged Criminal Duo for Multitude of Crimes

A resident in the neighborhood where Freddie Gray was arrested and where residents rioted over his death in April looks on at the scene of a shooting at the intersection of West North Avenue and Druid Hill Avenue in West Baltimore, Md., on May 30.

The local Baltimore law enforcement recently apprehended two male individuals linked with an array of crimes, including multiple shootings, a forcible vehicle seizure, and a residential break-in within the Baltimore area.

As the investigation unfolded, the authorities succeeded in identifying the culprits, who are 39-year-old Eddie Murphy and his associate, 44-year-old Christopher Brigerman.

Both men are accused of assaulting and shooting a 47-year-old man in the course of executing an attempted armed robbery at a commercial establishment, specifically on Saint Paul Street’s 2400 block.

This unfortunate event, which marked the city’s first reported shooting of the year, occurred on the first day of January.

Murphy, according to the police, is implicated in the occurrence of three other separate shooting incidents and a highjacked car seizure.

One of these occurrences happened on January 18, on Darley Avenue’s 1700 block when a 40-year-old man became a victim of the violence.

Subsequently, on March 9, on North Washington Street’s 1800 block, a 23-year-old man suffered the same fate.

On March 29, on North Fulton Avenue’s 1100 block, a 31-year-old woman became the third victim of Murphy’s alleged shooting spree.

Further, the law enforcement agents also ascribe an armed carjacking incident to Murphy that traumatized a 52-year-old man. This particular carjacking incident unfolded on April 2, in Harford Road’s 2300 block.

Acting on these charges, the police successfully detained Murphy without causing any ruckus on April 5.

Few days after, on April 9, Brigerman was identified during an investigation of residential break-in on North Rose Street’s 400 block, leading to his arrest.

The authorities confirmed that both men, Murphy and Brigerman, have previously faced criminal charges and arrest records.

These earlier charges and arrests encompass similar crimes like robbery and assault, further corroborating their recent alleged involvements.

While their previous criminal records provided a valuable lead in their identification, it also reflects the pressing need for more stringent measures in Baltimore to curb such repeated instances of law infringement.
