Eva Amurri Sparks New Marital Bliss and Professional Direction

Eva Amurri, a household name, is candidly sharing her life’s recent transitions – shifting geographies to Connecticut, undergoing a separation while expecting a baby, and now, embracing a new marital bliss and professional direction. Recently, Amurri has pioneered a fresh YouTube series that charts her journey of home refurbishment in Connecticut. She expresses her will to ‘dictate her own fate’, marking the commencement of a new epoch in her life. Indeed, she’s no newcomer to starting anew and has experienced her fair share of them in recent times.

Her relocation to Connecticut was initially triggered by her former spouse’s professional commitments. Then, the global health crisis swept in, causing the entertainment industry to hit a pause, which found Amurri exploring fresh opportunities. What followed was expecting a baby, followed closely by a divorce during her pregnancy. The next phase of life welcomed a new romance and the celebration of matrimony in 2025.

Presently, she is diving into a new professional venture and documenting her latest endeavor through a YouTube series. She’s delving into home remodeling, with a particular focus on one house in Westport, Conn., set to be entirely overhauled by a designing team led by her, and a construction unit headed by her colleague and builder, Chris O’Dell.

Amurri first crossed paths with O’Dell when she recruited him to revamp her old dwelling in Westport around eight years ago. As the pandemic set in, she started undertaking miscellaneous marketing gigs to provide her income with a boost. Their paths converged once again during this time. There was a casual conversation when O’Dell suggested the idea of collaborating on a home project—a futuristic dwelling that successfully blends wellness, tech, and aesthetics.

Amurri is leading the charge not just as a star of the series, but also by donning the hats of director and producer. She purposefully made this decision as she wanted to capture the complete journey of the house, tracing its nascent stage through to its ultimate sale. This undertaking symbolizes the pinnacle of Amurri’s years of life transformations as she established her lifestyle brand ‘Happily Eva After’ almost a decade earlier.

According to Amurri, her foray into lifestyle content creation was driven by a deep dissatisfaction and a craving for something more. She articulates her feelings, ‘I have been self-reliant since a very young age and as I thought of starting my own family, I came to realize the weight of living an inspired life connected with my work. It would be dramatically contradictory and unacceptable for me to advise my daughter on the importance of finding life’s satisfaction while not demonstrating the same in my life.’

For this reason, she decided to transform her life completely. Reflecting on these changes, she said, ‘I suo moto learned the workings of the internet which I considered an enigma previously, but it turned out to be a fruitful venture as I established that brand and its earnings became pivotal for me post-divorce.’ Here, she is insinuating her February 2020 separation from the former footballer Kyle Martino, finalized a month and a half prior to the arrival of their third child, Mateo, born on March 13.

Amurri adds, ‘Various twists and turns marked my journey in the industry: a shutdown, severed ties with my manager, and eventually getting dropped by the agency. Navigating this comedy of errors was disconcerting, but as an entrepreneur, you come to see such failures as an inherent part of your journey.’

Amurri’s ‘downfall phase,’ as some might describe it, wasn’t quite a decline. Thanks to the success of her lifestyle brand, she thrived as a content creator during the industry-wide stagnation induced by the pandemic. Recounting her resilience, she said, ‘When life takes a different direction, the best way is to adapt and pivot.’ Amurri, a mother of three kids that she shares with Martino: daughter Marlowe Mae, 10, and sons Major James, 8, and Mateo Antoni, 5, reflects, ‘While no one walks down the aisle expecting divorce, I was lucky to have my content creation activity as a source of income during that time. As a person, I always yearn for constant learning and evolution.’

Surveying the past decade of ‘Happily Eva After’, and having navigated numerous difficulties in her personal life, Amurri exudes pride in her determination. Since her childhood in the limelight, she has publicly ignored the criticism concerning her wedding ensemble and occasionally even engaged in discussions about ‘nepotism baby’.

But one aspect she values and demonstrates skilfully is her capacity to adapt and thrive amid adversities. ‘Regardless of the obstacles, I just kept on moving,’ she asserts. There’s a fear of facing a ‘downtrodden phase’ and believing ‘This isn’t meant for me, or I’m not cut out for this’, but the only way out is to keep moving forward. She emphasizes, ‘So, I kept evolving and changing, one kept going.’
