Leavitt and Doocy Clash Over Epstein ‘Client List’ Inquiry

The press secretary of the White House, Karoline Leavitt, recently shared an exchange with journalists in the well-known James Brady Press Briefing Room at the White House. The discussion took place on June 19, 2025, within the borders of Washington. Furthermore, Fox News correspondent Peter Doocy had a contentious interaction with Karoline Leavitt regarding previous remarks made by Attorney General Pam Bondi about the supposed ‘client list’ of Jeffrey Epstein.

A video excerpt from Bondi’s Fox News dialogue in February came back into public attention. This followed reports from Axios on Sunday indicating that the FBI and Department of Justice had found no verifiable evidence supporting the existence of Epstein’s ‘client list.’ Within the interview, Bondi insinuated possession of this ‘client list’, claiming it was currently situated on her desk.

During the press briefing on Monday, Doocy broached the topic with Leavitt, scrutinizing Bondi’s previous reference. He voiced his concern, ‘Based on the findings, it was concluded that no such ‘client list’ was found upon thorough investigation. So the question remains, where did Epstein’s ‘client list’ that was allegedly on the Attorney General’s desk vanish to?’

Rebuttal came swiftly from Leavitt, responding on Monday that Bondi’s allusion was not to a ‘client list’, but to the vast assortment of documents linked to Epstein’s illegal sex trafficking activities. ‘The Attorney General was trying to convey that she had in her possession all related paperwork, encompassing the full tetrad of the Epstein case. She will probably give her own explanation at the appropriate time,’ affirmed Leavitt, before redirecting any additional queries to the Justice Department.

Supporters of the MAGA movement and proponents of various conspiracy theories have aggressively called upon the administration of President Donald Trump. They demand the unveiling of all Epstein-related documents, particularly a possible ‘client list’ in connection with the sex-trafficking allegations.

Echoes of similar sentiments have been evident even within Trump’s administration, from officials such as Bondi and Alina Habba, the U.S. Attorney General for New Jersey. They indicated intent to disclose the ‘client list’ and other pertinent documents to the public.

During a Fox News interview in February, when asked whether the ‘client list’ would be unveiled, Bondi responded, ‘It’s currently on my desk, pending review.’ She also added, ‘This directive comes straight from President Trump. I am not only reviewing this but also JFK files, MLK files, amongst others. These actions are in accordance with the president’s orders.’

Subsequent to the Axios report, a separate video fragment showcasing Habba has gained traction. Habba expressed her views in February stating, ‘The Epstein case has raised significant concerns. We have flight records, we possess information. The names that will be revealed… It’s absolutely shocking how many individuals managed to remain concealed, and thus evade accountability.’

Based on Axios’ examination of the confidential memo from the administration, no other personalities implicated in the Epstein case are likely to face charges. Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s former partner and a recognized socialite, was separately indicted and later found guilty in 2021 for aiding Epstein in conducting sexual abuse on minors.

Epstein, a high-profile New York financier, renowned for his close associations with several influential individuals, had been arrested in 2019 upon his return to the U.S. from Paris on his private jet. He was accused of sexually assaulting numerous adolescent girls in the early 2000s.

The charges against Epstein carried notable importance, as they unfolded over a decade after a covert plea bargain with federal prosecutors in Florida sidestepped allegations of a similar nature. However, shortly after his arrest, Epstein died from apparent suicide within a heavily guarded compartment of a New York penitentiary.

Post his death, Epstein’s notorious crimes, his connections with several high-profile individuals, and the circumstances surrounding his death have sparked public intrigue, rigorous media inspection, and fueled various conspiracy theories.
