During a forthcoming White House press briefing, it is expected that the President will announce his plans to deploy several hundred members of the District of Columbia’s National Guard. Despite a consistent downward trend in Washington D.C.’s crime rates, President Trump’s perception is that they have spiraled out of control. He has even put forth the idea of a potential federal intervention to address the situation. Analysts observed that all but 250 of the National Guard troops previously deployed to Los Angeles have been withdrawn.
