New Footage Contradicts Drone Attack Claims in Greta Thunberg’s Gaza Aid Flotilla Incident
New footage has shattered claims made by Greta Thunberg and her so-called “Global Sumud Flotilla” that their boat was hit by a drone while docked in Tunisia. The reality? A crew member misfired a flare, and it landed right back on the vessel—setting part of it ablaze.

These people lie for sport. There was never any drone. pic.twitter.com/GSSSvjy23I

That’s a far cry from the original story, which claimed the “Family Boat” was attacked by an Israeli drone while sitting peacefully in Tunisian waters. The flotilla’s organizers had attempted to frame the incident as an act of aggression in order to bolster their anti-Israel propaganda. But now, video evidence tells a different story: it wasn’t an attack—it was incompetence.
Tunisian officials had already cast doubt on the claim, stating the explosion was internal and not caused by any external strike. Now we know why. The so-called drone strike was nothing more than an embarrassing mishap onboard.
The incident adds to a long list of credibility issues for pro-Hamas “aid” flotillas, which often present themselves as humanitarian efforts while carrying political agendas. This latest failed stunt—complete with dramatic false accusations—comes in the middle of a deadly conflict in Gaza, where more than 64,000 people have reportedly died due to Hamas dragging civilians into war zones and using them as human shields.
Thunberg, who has spent years parading as a climate activist, has now made herself the face of an increasingly politicized and dishonest campaign to breach Israel’s naval blockade on Gaza. With this fire incident exposed as self-inflicted, questions are now mounting: What else is this flotilla lying about? And who’s really behind the effort?
The flotilla has vowed to continue its mission despite this humiliation. But the damage to their credibility is done—and the world is watching.
