New Hampshire Country Club Shooter Reportedly Yelled ‘Free Palestine’ During Wedding Attack

A horrifying shooting at a wedding in New Hampshire’s Sky Meadow Country Club took a chilling turn when a witness told The Associated Press that the suspect shouted “Free Palestine” and “The children are safe” during the attack that left one man dead and two others injured.

Witness Account Reveals Chilling Slogan

Tom Bartelson of Pepperell, Massachusetts, who was attending his nephew’s wedding, said the suspect shouted the pro-Palestinian phrase before unleashing gunfire. “Getting together for a dance for the bride and groom and then all chaos went off,” Bartelson recalled. “We heard about six shots and everybody ducked for cover.”

According to Bartelson, the shooter “appeared to be targeting someone,” though authorities have not confirmed a specific motive or link between the suspect and the victims.

Suspect Identified, Victims Still Being Assessed

Authorities have identified the shooter as 23-year-old Hunter Nadeau. He is accused of fatally shooting 59-year-old Steven DeCesare and injuring two additional wedding guests. All three victims were adults, and law enforcement has said there is “no known connection” between Nadeau and DeCesare at this time.

The New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office confirmed Nadeau is facing a charge of second-degree murder. Additional charges are expected for the two wounded victims, whose names and medical conditions have not yet been released.

Arraignment Scheduled as Motive Remains Unclear

Nadeau was immediately detained at the scene and is currently in custody. He is set to be arraigned on Monday at the Ninth Circuit Court in Nashua.

New Hampshire Senior Assistant Attorney General Peter Hinckley said investigators are still working to determine Nadeau’s motive, though the reported “Free Palestine” outburst is likely to draw scrutiny amid heightened political tensions nationwide.

Wedding Turns to Chaos

The Sky Meadow Country Club is a high-end venue known for hosting weddings, golf outings, and formal events. What began as a celebration quickly turned to terror as gunfire rang out during the bride and groom’s first dance.

The investigation is ongoing, and officials have promised to release more information as it becomes available.
