Rapper D4vd Transfers Texas Homes to Mother Amid Death Probe
Rising artist D4vd—real name David Anthony Burke—has quietly transferred ownership of two homes in the Houston area to his mother during an escalating investigation into a teenager’s death. The timing of the transfers has raised eyebrows across social media and the music world.
The first deed move took place on Sept. 18, the same day his Houston property was targeted in a “swatting” prank call. The second followed on Sept. 22. At the swatting incident, his mother answered the door and reportedly told responding officers only family was in the home.
Authorities are investigating the death of 15?year?old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were discovered in a decomposed state inside a Tesla registered to D4vd. The Los Angeles Police Department says the body may have been in the car for several weeks before being found.
To ease scrutiny, D4vd has paused all promotional efforts: his upcoming tour is canceled, and his album rollout is halted. Though public attention is intense, no charges have been filed, and D4vd insists he’s cooperating fully with investigators.
The deed transfers may be viewed as strategic—protecting assets from legal liabilities. Whether they’ll withstand further inquiry remains to be seen.
The spotlight is now on law enforcement to reveal whether there’s any connection between the transfers and the broader case—one that has already stirred controversy, speculation, and public demand for answers.
