Student Dead After Shooting Teacher At Texas Prep School
A high school teacher in Texas was shot by a student Monday in a violent incident that ended with the 15-year-old suspect taking his own life, according to authorities.
The shooting took place at Hill Country College Preparatory High School in Comal County, just north of San Antonio. Officials said the student opened fire on a female teacher, triggering an immediate lockdown as law enforcement responded to secure the campus.
The injured teacher was transported to a nearby hospital, but her condition has not been publicly disclosed. Authorities confirmed the student died at the scene from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Comal County Sheriff’s Office said the situation was quickly contained and that there was no ongoing threat to students or staff following the incident.
Students were safely evacuated and transported to Bulverde Middle School, where they were reunited with their parents as officials worked to manage the aftermath and provide updates.
Law enforcement remained on campus as the investigation continued, with officials urging the public to rely on verified information while details are still being gathered.
Hill Country College Preparatory High School is a small, academically focused campus with an enrollment of under 200 students. The school offers programs that allow students to graduate with both a high school diploma and an associate degree along with industry certifications.
The incident has shaken the local community, as authorities continue working to determine what led up to the shooting and whether there were any warning signs beforehand.
