Thrilling Return of the Champion Racing Street Stocks at Anderson Speedway

The exhilarating Champion Racing Association Street Stocks are poised to make their comeback this weekend, featuring their second out of two 150-lap contests at the distinguished Anderson Speedway. This compelling event represents the penultimate appearance of the touring division at the famed speedway for the current season, heightening the anticipation amongst spectators and competitors.

The Street Stocks won’t be alone on the track; they will be sharing the adrenaline-fueled competition with other divisions such as Late Models, the Knapp Supply Ford Division, and the Thunder Roadsters. The synergy and thrill of these different championships competing in the same venue make the event a must-watch for any avid racing fan.

The landmark race of the day is the Tom Wood 150, a recurring spectacle of speed and endurance that leaves the crowd breathless. Previous races have been unpredictable and full of surprises, with competitors pushing the boundaries of their machines and their skills.

In the last 150-lap event, Dalton Conner clinched the victory with Andrew Teepe following closely behind, bagging the second position. The third place was clinched by the tenacious Josh Ebbert Jr. It was a race where attrition played a pivotal role, particularly among the front runners, demonstrating the relentless nature of the competition.

Looking back, the champion of the last year’s two 150-lap contests were Ryan Amonett and Teepe, both showing exceptional strength and strategy on the track. Their wins are a testament to the intense rivalry and unpredictability that characterize these long laps races.

Williams, who had an impressive breakout victory at the Anderson Speedway with the CRA Street Stocks in a 75-lap race this past April 26, leads the championship points table. Hot on his heels in the pursuit for the ultimate prize are Duane Damon and Phil Jenkins.

Adding to the list of notable competitors, local racers like Ebbert, James Kirby, and Andrew Cook are turning heads this season. All three are featuring within the top ten of the series point standings, adding local flavor and competition to the mix.

In a spectacular showdown, Nash Engdahl conquered the third annual Madison County 200 for the touring Sportsman Late Models. His victory added another layer of thrill and excitement to the racing calendar and served as an attraction point for fans and competitors alike.

The Knapp Supply Ford Division also re-emerges into the spotlight post the 76th season run of the National Crown Figure-8 race, won previously by Curtis Chapman. Previous winners to watch out for in this division are Colin Grissom, Caleb Burge, and Randy Owen.
