Truck Driver Bloodied in Alleged Self-Defense Stabbing of Ex-Jets QB Mark Sanchez

Gruesome hospital photos have emerged showing the 69-year-old grease truck driver allegedly attacked by former New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez in a violent late-night confrontation in Indianapolis. The man, identified only as “PT,” is seen covered in blood, strapped to a hospital bed with a neck brace, and nursing severe facial injuries.

According to a police affidavit obtained by Fox59, the altercation unfolded just after midnight on Saturday morning, when PT was collecting cooking oil from a hotel alley. That’s when Sanchez, reportedly intoxicated, confronted him. PT, who wasn’t wearing his hearing aids due to the noise of his truck, leaned in to hear Sanchez — and immediately noticed the former NFL player reeked of alcohol and was slurring his words.

Things escalated fast. The 6-foot-2, 230-pound Sanchez allegedly shoved PT into a wall and then threw him to the ground. In fear for his life, the elderly driver reportedly pulled out a knife and stabbed Sanchez in self-defense.

PT’s injuries are extensive. According to Fox59 anchor Angela Ganote, the stab wound to Sanchez occurred after PT suffered a brutal gash that tore through his cheek and hit his tongue. Hospital images show deep lacerations on PT’s face and blood soaking his clothing and neck brace.

Sanchez, now 38 and working as a Fox Sports analyst, remains hospitalized in stable condition. Police have since charged him with three misdemeanors: battery resulting in bodily injury, unauthorized entry into a motor vehicle, and public intoxication that endangered another person’s life.

As of now, no charges have been filed against PT, who claims the stabbing was purely defensive. Investigators continue to review surveillance footage and witness testimony to determine if further legal action is warranted.

The incident has shocked NFL fans and media circles alike, casting a dark shadow over Sanchez’s post-football career.
