Trump Exposes Springsteen’s Ill-Advised Support for Incompetent Biden and Harris

Donald Trump, apparently unbothered by Bruce Springsteen’s U.S. roots, has updated his social media followers on Truth Social about his current debacle with the rockstar. He found Springsteen’s comments about him and his governance quite unpalatable. This dissatisfaction struck a harder chord given that Springsteen chose to express his opinions from England while Trump was absent. Trump’s fiery response seemingly served as a warning for Springsteen to withhold his thoughts until his return to U.S. soil.

The implication that the president might be contemplating potential repercussions for Springsteen’s disapproval puts a stark light on the episode. Trump’s intimation of ‘standard fare’ left a shroud of uncertainty regarding his intentions. Leaving the audience puzzled, it invited speculation whether the consequences planned involved an unsettling interference of the Department of Homeland Security in Springsteen’s affairs.

Numbers began connecting some rather uncomfortable dots hinting that there is a chance the Department of Homeland Security could be utilized to disrupt the New Jersey-born artist’s homecoming plans slated for July. The rationale for such a move is as perplexing as Trump’s warning itself. Perhaps, as some may infer, it’s merely Trump exercising the fine art of bluffing.

Between his strongly worded warnings, Trump seized the opportunity to toss public insults at Springsteen. The president maligned the award-laden septuagenarian artist as talentless and past his prime, adopting derisive terms such as a ‘no-talent hack’ and likening him to a ‘withered rocker.’ An unusual disapproval, especially given Trump’s past association with Springsteen’s track ‘Born in the USA’.

Interestingly, Trump’s recriminations seem disingenuous, given that he utilized Springsteen’s signature track—used without permission—at his initial presidential campaign in 2016. Bruce Springsteen is not alone in his objection to the ‘Make America Great Again’ frontman’s use of his songs. Other notable artists like Adele, Beyonce, Celine Dion, Guns N’ Roses, and Mick Jagger have voiced similar protestations against Trump adopting their music for furthering his ambitions.

Springsteen’s wrangle with Trump has roots in the singer’s concert in Manchester, where he capitalized on his performances to throw blatant criticisms at Trump. Backed by the E Street Band, Springsteen sent out sparks with his speeches signifying his disapproval of the then-president, labeling him unfit for the role.

Springsteen openly criticized Trump’s administration, pointing to instances of warping of free speech rights, insensitivity towards poverty-stricken children, and apparent delight in the hardship suffered by committed American laborers. He also claimed the administration reversed historic civil rights legislations.

The musician didn’t hesitate to accuse the Trump administration of favoritism towards despotic authorities and divesting U.S. universities that resisted their ideological impositions. He even went to the extent of accusing them of unlawful deportations to foreign detention centers.

Springsteen has been an outspoken critic of both the Trump regimes, aligning himself with Democratic ideologies and supporting their candidates. He was active during Joe Biden and Kamala Harris’s respective campaigns, further advancing their causes.

Trump, however, seemed eager to focus on Springsteen’s support for Biden on Truth Social. Trump dubbed Springsteen, a ‘vexatious boor,’ inattentive to Biden’s ‘mental incompetence’ and the ‘calamitous’ potential of his leadership. Trump’s disdain for Biden and his administration has remained relentless in his online bouts.

Springsteen wasn’t Trump’s sole focus of public rebuke on Truth Social. He had his guns blazing against other celebrities as well, keeping Truth Social abuzz with his unbridled opinions.

Taylor Swift was the next on Trump’s radar, offering an unsolicited commentary on her ostensibly dwindling popularity. He seemed to assume the responsibility for the perceived decline and vocalized his distaste for Swift in no uncertain terms.

Trump seemed to be one-upping himself with each verbal hit, claiming credit for Swift’s perceived drop in popularity after she voiced support for Kamala Harris, another figure from Trump’s roster of disapproval.

He was not holding back in expressing his thoughts, even if divisive, continuing his notorious tradition of social media outpourings. His words against Swift and Springsteen attest to his continuing bouts with the figures of the music industry who dare to oppose his political standing.
