Trump Pounces on ‘Woke’ Stern: Predicts Impending Doom

Trump recently seized the opportunity to take a jab at erstwhile friend, Howard Stern, amidst swirling speculations about Stern’s ongoing negotiations concerning his contract renewal with SiriusXM. This comes in the wake of a US Sun article that hinted at the possibility of the controversial radio host being shown the door by the broadcasting company as his current contract nears expiration.

In the midst of these conjectures, Stern simply remained silent and overlooked all the chatter, while SiriusXM did not make any statements either. On the contrary, Stern had a more optimistic tone during his recent show, reassuring his fans by stating that they would return on air soon.

However, when Trump was queried about the whole fiasco, he met it with a response that was rather piercing towards Stern. He was asked whether he felt that the ‘Hate Trump’ narrative, prevalent in the entertainment industry, was starting to lose appeal among the masses, and hence, going out of business.

Even though Stern’s silent treatment to the question might indicate a veiled admission of the grim circumstances, Trump, known for his no-holds-barred approach, didn’t miss a beat and threw a critical question back, wondering aloud whether Stern had been shipped out. Observers of their once warm relations might find this scenario quite surprising.

The bond between Trump and Stern was once known to be close-knit, as evident from numerous appearances Trump made on Stern’s radio show. As Stern had confessed in 2019, placing Trump on the air was always a thrilling experience given Trump’s unfiltered persona, which had an unmissable alluring charm for the viewers.

Stern’s dynamic with Trump, however, shifted course when the radio host made the decision to reject Trump’s proposal to speak at a Republican National Convention. This decision was born from Stern’s decision to put his weight behind Clinton’s presidential bid.

Drawing light on his strained equation with the former President, Stern gave a somewhat retrospective account in 2019. Remembering their past congenial moments, he recounted that Trump was present at his wedding and had often shared a cordial dinner at Mar-a-Lago, making it clear that the current discord was a complete turnaround from their previous amicable ties.

In an earlier incident, Trump was particularly critical about Stern following an interview the latter conducted with Kamala Harris. This was seen as a direct retaliation against Stern’s choice to favor a political adversary.

Snipping about Stern’s waning popularity, Trump pointedly stated last year that Stern’s ‘woke’ approach had contributed to the plummeting of his ratings. This was another in a series of stabs Trump has often taken at his former friend, who was now on the opposite side of the political divide.

Recently, Trump also used the same platform to take shots at various late-night TV show hosts. Seemingly on a criticism spree, he took names without any hesitations – Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel – while boldly declaring that they will be next to face the axe due to lacking talent.

Using the argument of viewer ratings as a yardstick, Trump bashed the aforementioned hosts, prophesizing their impending doom in the industry. He suggested Colbert might be the one to surge ahead given his marginally better ratings than Fallon or Kimmel.

The president’s constant remarks and riveting narratives managed to keep the spotlight riveted on the matter. Ultimately, it appears that the entertainment industry’s strategy of riding on the ‘Hate Trump’ wave may need a re-evaluation.

In this overcast climate of contract renewals and unsettled friendships, it remains to be seen how the fortunes will pan out for each of the parties involved. Will Stern make a triumphant return on SiriusXM, or will Trump’s prophetic gloom cast a long shadow over the entire industry? Only time will tell.
