Former Trump border czar Tom Homan is sounding the alarm over what he calls the greatest national security vulnerability in U.S. history—millions of illegal immigrants who crossed the southern border during the Biden years, including individuals from Iran and other hostile nations.
Homan’s warning comes in the wake of President Donald Trump’s precision airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. As the U.S. prepares for potential retaliation, the question looms large: did Iran already plant sleeper cells inside America during the Biden administration’s border collapse?
Speaking on Fox News, Homan pointed to official Customs and Border Protection data showing that under Joe Biden, at least 1,272 Iranians were released into the U.S.—compared to zero under President Trump.
“Because of President Trump’s leadership, we now have the most secure border in modern history,” Homan said. “We’re not releasing people into the country. Special interest aliens are not slipping through undetected. But under Joe Biden, we saw more than 10 million illegal crossings—and over 2 million known gotaways. That’s the real threat.”
Those 2 million “gotaways,” Homan explained, are individuals Border Patrol never apprehended or identified—because agents were too overwhelmed dealing with the humanitarian chaos created by Biden’s policies.
“We don’t know who they are. We don’t know where they are. And we don’t know why they’re here,” Homan said. “That’s what keeps me up at night.”
Homan added that under President Trump, the national security infrastructure is finally back in capable hands. With Kash Patel leading the FBI, Kristi Noem at DHS, and no more Kamala Harris pretending to be a “border czar,” the intelligence community is now focused and aggressive in tracking down national security threats.
Border intel, Homan said, has already found prayer mats, Iranian documents, and foreign IDs from Syria, Turkey, and Uzbekistan just south of the border—clear indicators that terror-linked individuals have entered the U.S.
“We’d be foolish to believe that not a single terrorist made it in,” Homan warned. “But the difference is, we now have a Commander-in-Chief who actually takes national security seriously. From day one, President Trump has prioritized removing threats and protecting the American people.”
“Under Joe Biden, there was 1,272 nationals of Iran released into the country” after crossing the border illegally, says @RealTomHoman.
