Trump Says Elizabeth Warren Needs To Be Drug-Tested
President Donald Trump blasted Senator Elizabeth Warren on Thursday during an Oval Office exchange with reporters, suggesting that the Massachusetts Democrat should be drug-tested after what he described as bizarre, over-the-top behavior.
The remark came after a LindellTV reporter asked Trump about Warren and Senator Bernie Sanders continuing to claim that his administration intends to cut Social Security. The president has repeatedly promised to protect Social Security, but Democrats have continued to push the narrative in speeches and media appearances.
.@POTUS: “Elizabeth Warren said she was an Indian. We call her Pocahontas—she’s a liar… I watched her the other night, she’s all hopped up endorsing a communist in New York City, and she was all excited and jumping up and down. She’s gotta take a drug test, she really does.”? pic.twitter.com/cqpz5pkNse

Trump praised the reporter for the question, saying, “I love your question, I should have called you almost first.” From there, he launched into a sharp critique of Warren, recalling her years-long claim of Native American ancestry. “Elizabeth Warren said she was an Indian. We call her Pocahontas. She’s a liar. She lied her whole career. Based on the fact that she was Indian, she was able to get into certain colleges, get certain jobs, get into certain universities to work there. She’s a liar and a mean person. She’s a nut job.”
He then shifted to her political activism, referencing Warren’s recent rally alongside Democratic Socialist Zohran Mamdani, the frontrunner for New York City mayor. “I watched her the other night. She was all hopped up, endorsing a communist in New York City. And she was all excited and jumping up and down. She’s gotta take a drug test! She really does, she’s gotta take a drug test. There’s no way somebody can act that way and be normal.”
The president also accused Warren of devastating regional banks during her career and painted her as hostile toward business. “She put banks in the Midwest out of business. She’s a mean, horrible human being.”
Trump turned briefly to Sanders, contrasting him with Warren. “Bernie Sanders is Bernie Sanders. I don’t mind him so much. He’s just a liberal guy, very liberal guy, wacky guy. He’s still sharp. I got to tell you, you know, he’s 86, or 87, or something. He’s still sharp. You compare that to Joe Biden … So I don’t mind Bernie Sanders. With him, you know what you’re getting.”
Trump’s comments reflect his strategy of drawing sharp contrasts not only with President Biden but with the Democrats most eager to attack his administration. By mocking Warren’s credibility and temperament, Trump is signaling that he intends to put her on the defensive while continuing to assure voters that Social Security will be fully protected under his leadership.
