Trump Calls For Corruption Charges Against Left-Wing Megadonor George Soros And Son

President Donald Trump called on federal prosecutors Wednesday to bring corruption and racketeering charges against billionaire megadonor George Soros and his son, Alex Soros, accusing them of orchestrating political unrest and funding radical activism across the United States.

Speaking through a fiery post on Truth Social, Trump said the father-son duo should be investigated and charged under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), a federal statute historically used to target organized crime networks.

“George Soros, and his wonderful Radical Left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of Violent Protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” Trump wrote. “That includes his Crazy, West Coast friends. Be careful, we’re watching you!”

A Longtime Target of the Right

George Soros, now 95 years old, has been a perennial villain in conservative political circles. Through his massive philanthropic organization, Open Society Foundations, Soros has spent billions funding a vast network of nonprofits and advocacy groups pushing left-wing causes, including criminal justice reform, immigration advocacy, abortion access, and climate activism.

His influence, amplified through dark money channels and campaign finance vehicles, has drawn fire from Republicans who say Soros uses his wealth to manipulate American politics while undermining the rule of law. Under President Trump’s second term, this criticism has escalated into a government-wide crackdown on politically motivated funding networks, especially those tied to the progressive movement.

Legal and Political Escalation

While no formal charges have been announced against Soros or his son, Trump’s public statement signals a potentially major shift in how the administration may handle partisan political donors going forward. It comes amid a broader campaign to root out what Trump officials describe as “institutionalized corruption” among elite political operatives, NGOs, and law firms aligned with the Democratic Party.

Critics of Trump’s posture call it dangerous and authoritarian. Supporters say it’s long overdue.

A spokesperson for Open Society Foundations quickly fired back, denying any wrongdoing and accusing the president of using law enforcement as a political weapon. “These accusations are outrageous and false,” the spokesperson said. “The Open Society Foundations do not support or fund Violent Protests. Our mission is to advance human rights, justice, and democratic principles at home and around the world.”

Broader Pattern of Targeting Political Adversaries

The renewed focus on Soros isn’t an isolated case. President Trump has also called for investigations into former national security adviser John Bolton, a one-time ally turned critic. Bolton has been under federal scrutiny as well. According to sources familiar with the matter, FBI agents conducted a search of Bolton’s residence last Friday as part of a national security probe.

Trump has increasingly turned to litigation, executive orders, and agency-level investigations to hold political actors accountable for what he describes as systemic abuse of power and influence. While some Democrats and media outlets have condemned these tactics as heavy-handed, Trump’s inner circle maintains that the president is simply enforcing accountability on a corrupt and protected political class.

Allies Rally Behind the President

Several conservative commentators and lawmakers applauded Trump’s Truth Social post, calling it a necessary move to investigate the opaque funding channels that influence elections, local prosecutors, and left-leaning policy agendas.

“The American people are sick of unelected billionaires pulling strings behind the scenes,” one congressional aide close to the administration said. “President Trump is right to shine a spotlight on the financial infrastructure propping up far-left chaos and lawlessness.”

With Trump intensifying efforts to regulate foreign-backed and ideologically driven financial networks, it appears that George Soros and his son may be the next central figures in a broader legal and political reckoning.
