Biden’s FBI Worked With Radical Pro-Abortion Group To Target Pro-Lifers, Emails Show

Newly released emails reveal a close working relationship between President Joe Biden’s FBI and the National Abortion Federation (NAF), raising serious concerns about weaponized justice and selective prosecution of pro-life Americans. The emails, obtained by the watchdog group Functional Government Initiative and reviewed by The Daily Wire, show that the FBI and Justice Department routinely coordinated with NAF — a pro-abortion lobbying group — to investigate and prosecute pro-life activists under the FACE Act.

The correspondence paints a damning picture of an administration that jailed peaceful protesters, raided the homes of elderly Christians, and seemingly handed pro-abortion activists a seat at the table of federal law enforcement.

An “Amazing Relationship” With The DOJ

In a January 9, 2023 email, NAF Security Manager Robert Ledogar boasted of an “amazing relationship” between NAF leadership and senior figures at the Department of Justice, including Civil Rights Division attorneys Sanjay Patel and Laura Cowall, and supervisor AUSA Paige Fitzgerald. Ledogar even credited DOJ officials for guiding the pro-abortion group through several FACE Act investigations across Tennessee, Florida, Virginia, California, New York, Maryland, and North Carolina.

“The past year, NAF Security has been part of several FACE Act investigations… The guidance from the team in DC has been nothing short of superb,” Ledogar wrote.

Sanjay Patel, who led the DOJ’s “Task Force on Violence Against Reproductive Health Providers,” is directly implicated in this coordination. The emails indicate a concerted effort to prosecute pro-life activists, while abortion advocates were allowed to advise and assist in the federal crackdown.

Targeting Peaceful Pro-Lifers

The DOJ’s aggressive enforcement of the FACE Act under Biden led to the prosecution of Christians for nonviolent protests — including prayer vigils and hymn singing. In Tennessee, six pro-lifers were convicted and faced up to 10 years in prison. Among them were an 89-year-old Holocaust survivor and a grandmother in her seventies. In New York, a Catholic priest and pro-life mother were sentenced to prison for what activists have described as peaceful resistance.

The NAF’s surveillance of pro-life events was also mentioned in the emails, with Ledogar admitting that his group monitored the March for Life to “identify and witness extremists” — a chilling use of political labels to describe Americans exercising free speech and religious liberty.

Civil Rights Double Standard

Kristen Clarke, then-assistant attorney general for civil rights, greenlit meetings with the abortion lobby. DOJ officials saw no issue with the close ties. “CrimeSec has no concerns,” DOJ Deputy Chief Robert Moossy replied when Clarke asked if the meeting was appropriate.

Critics say the revelations show blatant bias and a potential violation of DOJ ethics. “These emails reveal undue influence of abortion activists on federal law enforcement investigations,” said Functional Government Initiative spokesman Roderick Law. “The actions undertaken with outside influence appear to violate the civil rights of Americans convicted under the FACE Act.”

A Stark Contrast With Trump’s DOJ

The Trump administration issued strict guidance to only apply the FACE Act in cases of violence or property damage, and it stopped targeting crisis pregnancy centers and churches. During Trump’s first week in office, he pardoned nearly two dozen peaceful pro-life activists imprisoned under the Biden administration’s crackdown.

“Under the leadership of President Trump and Attorney General Bondi, this Department of Justice no longer weaponizes the FACE Act,” a DOJ spokesman said.

The Biden DOJ’s partnership with a powerful abortion lobbying group has now ignited a firestorm, with many asking whether Lady Justice’s blindfold was ripped off in favor of a political agenda. For countless pro-life Americans — some still facing prison time — the answer couldn’t be clearer.
