Trump Says Democrats Are ‘Kamikaze Pilots’ Steering Party Toward Oblivion
President Donald Trump did not hold back during his Sunday appearance on Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo, declaring that the Democratic Party is on a self-destructive path by rallying behind far-left figures like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), and New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani.

“The Democrats are kamikazes right now. They’re kamikaze pilots,” Trump said. “They have nothing going. They have no future. They have incompetent candidates.”
Trump singled out Crockett, calling her “a very low-IQ person” and expressing disbelief that she continues to poll well among Democratic voters. He also blasted Ocasio-Cortez, saying, “I watched her the other day — it’s like, you gotta be kidding. This is not going to make our country great.”
He saved some of his harshest words for Zohran Mamdani, who recently took the stage in a televised mayoral debate against Republican Curtis Sliwa and independent candidate Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani, a self-identified democratic socialist, drew Trump’s ire as the latest example of what he called the party’s hard-left collapse.
“To have a communist mayor — looks like we’re going to in New York — he’s not a socialist, he’s a communist,” Trump said flatly. “It’ll be very interesting.”
Trump also responded to the weekend’s “No Kings” protests, which appeared aimed at portraying him as a would-be authoritarian. “They’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king,” Trump said, rejecting the label. He defended his recent executive actions during the government shutdown, saying he was simply exercising his legal authority.
With Democratic leadership doubling down on its progressive wing, Trump framed the party’s current trajectory as politically suicidal.
“They’re not building anything,” he said. “They’re tearing down everything that made America strong.”
“They’re referring to me as a king. I’m not a king,” says @POTUS.
“They made one mistake. They didn’t realize that [the Democrat Shutdown] gives me the right to cut programs… giveaways, welfare programs, etc., and we’re doing that. We’re cutting them permanently.” pic.twitter.com/teTquv1d5d
