House Democrat Leader Hakeem Jeffries Solicited Donations from Epstein, Asked Him to Meet Obama, Files Reveal

Newly released files from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein have exposed a disturbing connection between House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries and the disgraced financier. A 2013 email obtained by the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee shows that a firm representing Jeffries reached out to Epstein to solicit campaign donations and encourage him to attend a private dinner with then-President Barack Obama.

The revelation came as part of a bombshell drop of thousands of pages of Epstein-related documents, released by House Oversight last week. The email, sent by Lisa Rossi of Dynamic SRG, refers to Jeffries — then a freshman congressman — as “Brooklyn’s Obama” and describes him as “committed to electing a Democrat majority in 2014.”

“Hakeem is encouraging his friends to participate in the DCCC/DSCC fundraising dinner with President Obama,” Rossi wrote to Epstein, asking him to reach out if he wanted “to get involved” or have “an opportunity to get to know Hakeem better.”

At the time of the email, Epstein had already served jail time for soliciting sex from a minor and was a registered sex offender. Yet Jeffries’ representative still attempted to bring him closer into the Democrat fundraising circle and into proximity with the sitting president.

House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) exposed the email on the House floor during debate over the Epstein Files Transparency Act, which passed the House with overwhelming bipartisan support, 427–1.

“Jeffries’ campaign solicited money from Jeffrey Epstein. That’s what we found in the last document batch,” Comer said.

Jeffries’ office has not issued a direct statement on the newly surfaced email, nor has he addressed whether any money was received from Epstein as a result of the solicitation.

Jeffries is not the only Democrat caught in the Epstein web.

Virgin Islands Delegate Stacey Plaskett, a key figure on the House Intelligence Committee, is also under fire after the latest Epstein files revealed she was texting directly with Epstein during a 2019 congressional hearing. Epstein watched the hearing live and coached Plaskett in real time as she grilled former Trump attorney Michael Cohen.

“You look great,” Epstein texted her mid-hearing, followed by advice on how to pressure Cohen. Minutes later, he praised her with a follow-up message: “Good work.”

Plaskett, who received Epstein-linked campaign donations in 2016 and 2018, has not denied the texts. The House Freedom Caucus has since introduced a resolution to remove her from the Intelligence Committee, citing her direct contact with Epstein and possible conflicts of interest, especially given his ownership of Little Saint James Island in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Republicans are now demanding full accountability from those involved. Rep. Greg Steube (R-FL) called the revelations “a betrayal of the public trust,” while Donald Trump Jr. ripped Democrats for their hypocrisy.

“A convicted sex offender who trafficked kids gets invited to a private dinner with Obama and a meeting with Jeffries five years after being released — but it’s somehow still all about Trump?” Trump Jr. wrote on X. “The Epstein saga is a hoax re: Trump, but not the Democrats who funded & enabled him!”

House Republicans are also turning up the heat on former President Bill Clinton, demanding he comply with a subpoena and sit for a deposition as part of the broader Epstein probe. Clinton flew on Epstein’s private jet dozens of times, and logs from Little Saint James show several visits that remain unexplained.

As Comer and the Oversight Committee dig deeper, more names could soon be dragged into the scandal. With legislation signed by President Trump requiring further transparency from Epstein’s estate, the political fallout may be only beginning.
