Biden and Harris’ Popularity: Less Appealing Than a Foot Infection

The corporate media, with a distinctive left-leaning bias, obsesses over fluctuating approval ratings pertaining to Donald Trump. Yet, they conveniently ignore an inescapable truth – despite their best attempts to paint an unfavorable picture of Trump, none of the Democrats can boast numbers as high as him. To put it mildly, Democrats’ popularity among Americans is akin to a throbbing, unwelcome foot infection. Unsurprisingly, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris rake in the least amount of popularity.

Publicidad

Even though four months have passed since their exit from the political stage, the aversion for Biden and Harris and their policies is still alive and kicking. In fact, Harris is one of the very few political figures who has managed to score lower popularity ratings than even the former president. Attempting to compare their approval ratings with that of Trump is laughable at best; it’s like contrasting a socially awkward chess club leader with a charming prom king.

During Trump’s presidency, I ventured many times into Delaware, Biden’s home turf, to gauge the general opinion about his highly unsuccessful tenure as president. Despite living under his ineffective rule in the Senate for many years, the voters there strangely continue to cast their ballots in favor of him and the Democrats – a classic case of political Stockholm Syndrome. However, among the residents of the region where Biden resides, he is largely disliked.

Rehoboth Beach, a gorgeous getaway spot and personal favorite of mine, is where the Biden family managed to secure a luxurious beachfront mansion. This wasn’t possible without capitalizing on his so-called ‘public service’, which has reportedly afforded them a million-dollar lifestyle. Yet Biden seems to have spent half his presidency lounging under an umbrella on these sandy beaches, much like a washed-up sea creature.

All along the beach’s main street and promenade, you will come across a multitude of busy surf and t-shirt shops, selling all kinds of spontaneous items that you love to purchase on vacation but have no practical use for once you get home. These shops are always a big hit with my kids.

In the shops’ display windows post the Democrats’ first impeachment attempt against Trump, were numerous images of Trump. Whether he was embracing the country’s flag, flashing a grin, or gesturing emphatically, his presence was undeniable. There was even a claw machine in one of the boardwalk arcades featuring a stuffed ‘Trump bear’, complete with distinguishable hair, suit, and a MAGA hat. My kids couldn’t resist winning one.

On the contrary, you would find no hint of pride in being the home state of a former U.S. president. Images of Biden were strikingly absent, and remain so. Instead, the town seemed to have a lot of ‘Brandon’ paraphernalia on display, with chucklesome references to ‘Brandon Falls’, the spot where he took a tumble off his bike.

Given the absence of Trump, you would expect the sentiment to be somewhat more favorable towards the former president. However, other than a singular shirt displaying comparative images of Trump and Biden under the captions ‘This is your brain’ and ‘This is your brain on drugs’ respectively, there is hardly any visible support for Biden. ‘Gulf of America’ shirts seem to significantly outnumber any others.

In fact, the local shop employees confirm these shirts are quite popular among customers. This clearly indicates the general public sentiment, reflecting distaste for Biden’s leadership and policies.

The Biden presidency tried hard to portray itself in a positive light but ended up far from this ideal. In fact, it became a horrifying inversion of what it aspired to be: a regrettable, four-year-long stint marred by numerous failures and widespread disapproval. His tenure is considered less as an accomplishment and more as an unfortunate blunder, leaving a legacy tarnished beyond redemption.

His one achievement, if it can even be called that, was effectively proving he was not on par with expectations. No amount of media painting could cover the glaring mistakes and failures of his administration, and the public wasn’t easily fooled.

For all the negative media portrayal, Trump’s popularity seemed unscathed, with many citizens still supporting him. His images were everywhere, his merchandise was selling – a stark contrast to Biden’s unpopularity even on his home turf.

Unfortunately, Biden’s leadership disappointed on all counts, proving to be a disaster for the people and the country. Despite their best efforts to diverge the narrative in favor of Biden and against Trump, the media was unable to revamp Biden’s tarnished image.

Harris, on the other hand, seemed to still be wallowing at the bottom of the popularity pool, with ratings even lower than her predecessor. It looked like the party’s efforts to push her as a strong contender had considerably backfired.

In conclusion, Trump’s popularity and support seemed to hold strong, despite the constant media onslaught. Meanwhile, the Democrats’ approval rates dwindled, with Biden and Harris as frontrunners of this decline. The overall sentiment was clear: while the Democrats, and particularly Biden, remain as attractive as an infection, Trump is still considered by many as the embodiment of leadership.
