Biden’s Physician Pleads the Fifth: Concealing What?

The sudden invocation of the Fifth Amendment by Joe Biden’s personal doctor, Kevin O’Connor, in the ongoing congressional hearings probing into Biden’s mental state during his tenure has only raised more eyebrows, than soothing any concerns. Far from these concerns being allayed, they’ve been given more mileage. The question remains: why would O’Connor refuse to testify, if there was no truth behind the cloak-and-dagger allegations being made against Biden? Any attempts to give this refusal a veneer of doctor-patient confidentiality seems absurd – after all, these hearings weren’t requesting medical prescriptive information like X-ray or blood-testing data.

One must wonder what unknown facts about Biden were being denied to the public, and for how long these have been kept in the dark. This intriguing congressional drama goes beyond just completing the jigsaw puzzle of historical facts. It can easily be dubbed as a political gladiatorial match with Democrats at the heart of it, giving off a strong whiff of coverup tactics.

The Trump administration hasn’t held back any punches in asserting that Biden’s Autopen signed bills and legal measures lack legitimacy. This view is being further used to crack the whip against Biden’s legacy within the congressional arena, with the Republicans using the House Oversight Committee as the playing field for this bout. The thinly veiled intent: erase what’s left of Biden’s receding legacy.

Committee chairman, James Comer hailing from Kentucky, placed O’Connor in the hot seat with two straightforward questions: had O’Connor ever been under false pretences regarding Biden’s health, and did O’Connor perceive Biden as unfit to perform his presidential duties? O’Connor’s refusal to respond fuels speculation that directives for silence were likely coming from elsewhere.

According to O’Connor’s silent gesture, a Texas Representative, Ronny Jackson, accused him of being complicit in the ‘greatest presidential coverup in history’. Jackson argued that the mere act of O’Connor pleading the Fifth was enough to suggest that he had deep-rooted knowledge of Biden’s inability to function as President, leading one to speculate that he’s now attempting to defensively ward off accusations.

When it comes to presidential misdeeds, the claim ‘biggest coverup in presidential history’ overshadows notable scandals such as Watergate and Iran-Contra. However, much like in Watergate’s case, the coverup here appears to be the bigger elephant in the room rather than the alleged mental acuity issue.

It is the world’s right to know the wheels and cogs that drove the US during Biden’s presidency, their motives, and reasons behind their actions. If the president was not actually Biden, as many sceptics and non-partisans believe, then certain Washington elites have their reputations hanging by a thread.

The pro-Biden camp in the committee is amusingly led by the excessively prejudiced Representative Jasmine Crockett from Texas. The former criminal defense attorney amusingly insists that Biden had been in full understanding of his role as president, his stutters and age posing zero threat to the American people.

According to Crockett, Biden is simply a sick, elderly ex-president whom his team occasionally presents for public speeches, seemingly clutching at straws to salvage their own credibility. But this entertaining act might not be enough to satisfy Congress, whose eyes are still set on the past.

Intriguingly, the Oversight Committee is gearing up for future visits from the top brass of Biden’s staff. Personnel such as Annie Tomasini, Ron Klain, Steve Richetti, Mike Donilon, Bruce Reed, and Anita Dunn are scheduled to testify in the coming summer.

Notably, none of the aforementioned individuals have a medical degree to their name. So, if any of them decide to take the Fifth, it would be clear that they’re not protecting any professional ethics, rather defending their own privileged bubbles from being burst.
