Family Seeks Justice in Joshua Malcolm Case

In 2023, the world sadly lost Joshua Malcolm to an unfortunate incident, leaving his kin in profound sorrow, and longing for clarity over the circumstances surrounding his demise. As the police grapple with the task of unraveling the details of the tragedy, family and friends have come together to organize a public march. Named ‘Pathway to Justice’, this event is an appeal to the local community to step forward with any potential information that might allow the bereaved family to reach a closure.

Law enforcement authorities from DeKalb County report that Joshua Malcolm met his untimely death following a lethal encounter on Bouldercrest Road, closely positioned to Interstate 285 on the date of April 10, 2023. The assault which claimed Joshua’s life was alleged to have been launched from a mysterious black SUV that targeted his vehicle with bullets. The aftermath of the incident showed multiple bullet holes embedded into the automobile.

At the time of the assault, an unidentified passenger was documented to be accompanying Malcolm, adding a further level of complexity to the ongoing investigation. However, Christy Malcolm, Joshua’s mother, still reeling from the loss of her son, remains burdened with the agony of conveying this tragic event to her grandchildren. In a heart-rending statement, she voiced the pain of being questioned by the young innocents about their father’s abrupt disappearance.

“Answering their queries with the ‘I don’t know’ response is unbearable,” Christy states, reflecting the sense of helplessness that holds the family hostage. The absence of a substantial lead in Joshua’s case further amplifies the distress. Police officials in DeKalb County, despite their best efforts, have yet to find a breakthrough that could provide a clue to the enigma surrounding the murder of the father of three.

In an admirable determination to pursue justice, the family members affirm their commitment towards supporting the ongoing law enforcement endeavors. They harbor acute disappointment concerning the lack of communication from the DeKalb County police. In their narrative, the last update from the police department was received well over a year ago. Christy Malcolm, bearing the brunt of her son’s loss, points out a bitter observation – ‘To us, it feels as though they’re treating Joshua as a criminal, not a victim.’

Driven by their desire for justice, the family and friends of Joshua Malcolm are resolved not to let the investigation reach a dead end. They openly express their hope to stimulate a proactive engagement from the general public. Keith Lewis, a friend of Joshua and local activist, supplies a thought-provoking perspective, acknowledging the fear that might deter potential informants from coming forward.

Keith Lewis presents the argument that, “The fear of being labelled a ‘snitch’ or facing possible adverse consequences might be instilling apprehension among the masses. But aiding in delivering justice doesn’t equate to snitching.” Rallying around this sentiment, Joshua’s supporters have planned a ‘Justice Walk’. This will be staged at the original crime scene, and is set for 5 p.m. this coming Friday. They envision that this very walk could relight the fire in the homicide investigation.

“This organized walk will serve a dual purpose,” affirms Lewis. “Not only will it draw attention to the case, but it will also demonstrate to Joshua’s young son that his father has not been forgotten by his community.” At just five years old, the visible manifestation of care and concern could have a significant impact on him, fostering a sense of community support in his young mind.

Lewis further emphasizes the underlying message that the Justice Walk intends to relay – the futility of violence. “This is an opportunity for the youth of our community to come face to face with the harsh reality of violence and its repercussions,” says Lewis, expressing hope that the youngsters might derive a significant lesson from this tragic occurrence.

Elevating the significance of their endeavors, Joshua’s mother Christy pleads, “If my appeal for help isn’t enough to move you to action, then consider Joshua’s three children. Each morning they wake up in a world where their father is forever absent.” She hopes that their plight would galvanize the public into assisting with the investigation.
