FBI Offers $100K as New Details Emerge in Nancy Guthrie Kidnapping Case
The FBI has released new information about the man suspected of kidnapping 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie from her Tucson, Arizona home—and increased its reward to $100,000 for information leading to a break in the case.
Authorities say the suspect is a male, approximately 5’9” to 5’10”, with an average build. He was wearing a black 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack during the kidnapping, which was captured on doorbell camera footage. The video also shows the man was masked and armed when he approached Guthrie’s home on the night of January 31.

“We hope this updated description will help concentrate the public tips we are receiving,” the FBI said. Since the start of February, the agency has reportedly received over 13,000 tips from the public and is reviewing each one for credibility.
A separate surveillance clip shows a man carrying a black backpack and hoisting a second blue bag over a brick wall around 1:53 a.m. on the night of the kidnapping. The footage was captured roughly five miles from Guthrie’s home. While the man in the video hasn’t been identified, authorities are trying to determine if he’s connected to the case.
Guthrie was last seen when her son-in-law, Tommaso Cioni, dropped her off at home after dinner with him and her daughter. She has not been seen or heard from since.
Last week, the FBI had offered a $50,000 reward. That figure has now doubled, as agents push for any tip that could help locate Guthrie or bring her suspected abductor to justice.
The FBI reminded news outlets to redirect any tips directly to law enforcement. The bureau also noted that no comment will be made about specific tips while the investigation is active.
