Ponder what could have happened if Kamala Harris secured the presidency – all the unknown factors we would be dealing with. We can only speculate on jobs that might never have been founded, energy that could have remained untapped, borders potentially left porous, adversaries undeterred and educational reforms discarded.
Now, let’s turn our attention to the reality under the second term of President Trump’s leadership. The question arises, can we honestly acknowledge whether we are living improved lives? Within 100 days of Trump’s commencement of his second term, over 345,000 jobs have sprung up in the U.S., like a shot of adrenaline to the national economy.
Over half of these newly fashioned jobs were formed in powerhouse sectors such as mining, construction and manufacturing. If Harris had ascended to the Oval Office, the colossal $14.9 billion collaboration between U.S Steel and Japan’s Nippon Steel might never have come to pass, a partnership projected to generate around 70,000 jobs and revitalise the US’s industrial core.
In contrast, Trump made a resounding commitment in Pennsylvania, stating unequivocally that America would return to building. And his words weren’t hollow. The tariffs on offshore steel and aluminum? They were heightened to 50%, reinforcing his intent to safeguard our domestic industries.
Consider the border situation. Had Harris come to power, it may have stayed porous and unregulated. Under Trump? Stamp-out measures on fraudulent activities were implemented and rules were strengthened in the interest of the law.
Internationally, America’s stance became one that could not be overlooked. Bold faced challenges were met with stern countermeasures. Particularly, Russia and Ukraine discovered that America, under Trump’s direction, was no longer an uninhibited benefactor. Instead, it insisted on the delivery of results.
The CCP, too, felt the blow with its covert pathways into American technological and research arenas being systematically blocked— a direct result of Trump’s decisive action on national security.
Thousands of Chinese students, suspected to have ties to their authoritarian government were deported by Trump’s administration. If Harris was sitting in the Oval Office, it’s dubious whether such decisive entities would have transpired.
Same applies to the energy sector. Harris showed intent towards a stringent and rapid eradication of fossil fuels. Trump, on the contrary, signed off on the Keystone XL. He allowed access to federal lands and expedited permits for fracking.
Educationally, if Harris was in charge, her chosen board members could have dictated certain educational doctrines. However, under Trump’s helm, the Department of Education is currently shrinking by 15%, while states are regaining their rightful power.
What’s more? The Parents’ Bill of Rights is lawfully enacted, and Title IX is in place once again safeguarding women’s rights.
When looking at fiscal policy, Harris might have caused the national debt to soar by a staggering $4 trillion due to plans to expand Medicare, offer ‘free’ college tuition and enact a universal basic income. However, Trump has halted discretionary spending and has carved away foreign aid directed towards hostile nations.
Eradicate all these achievements from your mind, erase the employment created, the security regained, the educational reforms acted upon, the domestic energy tapped, and the corruption unearthed.
Thankfully, we need not worry over such grim prospects since a choice was made in America’s favor. As a result of this selection, America is operating once again. It has returned to building, defending its borders, industries, children and foreseeing a brighter future.
It is indeed a blessing that Kamala Harris didn’t triumph in her presidential pursuit. America has had enough of illusions. Now, we are in the realm of reality, and it’s more promising than we could have ever anticipated.
