During his inaugural address in West Bengal, following the activation of ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Prime Minister wove an intricate narrative enchanting the listeners. He vividly drew upon the profound symbolic importance of ‘sindoor’, a ritualistic vermillion used during the revered ‘Sindoor Khela’ ceremony performed by Bengali women during the Durga Puja festival.

He did not hesitate to address the Pahalgam terrorist event that occurred on April 22, a horrendous act that left the nation in a state of shock and triggered widespread outrage in West Bengal. ‘Our sisters were stripped of their ‘sindoor’ in an act of insolence by these terrorists. But our courageous soldiers demonstrated the formidable force embodied in that ‘sindoor’.’

He declared, ‘From this very soil of Bengal, I communicate to them on behalf of the 1.4 billion citizens of India, that ‘Operation Sindoor’ remains unfinished.’ He concurrently indicated India’s strong stand against terrorism, a policy of non-negotiable, decisive action.

The Prime Minister continued, reiterating India’s stern message to the global community in light of the Pahalgam tragedy: Any act of terrorism directed at India will entail severe repercussions for the perpetrators.

He provided a glimpse of the measures that India had undertaken by hinting at the surgical strikes after the Uri terrorist incident in 2016, the air strikes at Balakot in response to the Pulwama attack in 2019, and the ongoing Operation Sindoor, delivering unexpected blows to cross-border terrorist architectures.

‘We’ve managed to strike at terror, right within Pakistan’s own backyard. This was an action they had never anticipated. Thrice, we’ve struck them, right within their homes,’ he underscored.

Not just limiting his discourse to the present occurrences, the Prime Minister also launched into a critique of Pakistan’s military structure, highlighting their deliberate nurturing of terrorism. ‘The only talent that the Pakistani army possesses is that of fostering terrorism and committing large-scale massacres. Yet, they fail to hold their ground in face-to-face combat,’ he further expanded.

Taking a trip down the annals of history, the Prime Minister drew parallels to the 1971 Bangladesh Liberation War, subtly reminding the crowd of Pakistan’s long-standing association with terrorism.

He sweepingly lambasted Pakistan as a nation that has cultivated and promoted terrorism since its foundation. ‘Pakistan has added nothing of value to the world, but has infamously served as a hotbed for terror and violence since its inception,’ he categorically denounced.

At the same time, he proudly presented India as a nation that has matured over the decades. ‘We do not tolerate such cowardly actions anymore,’ he affirmed, reflecting the decisive shift in India’s approach towards such acts.

He concluded, ‘Operation Sindoor represents our firm and non-negotiable stance against such acts of terror.’
