Donald Trump’s triumph over Hillary Clinton during the 2016 presidential election was not devoid of murmurs hinting at possible electoral interference. However, it was Joe Biden’s victory over Trump in the 2020 elections that witnessed the most blatant and unfounded claims of widespread fraud. These groundless accusations were believed to be fuel for the tragic events of the insurrection on January 6. Furthermore, these unfounded insinuations resulted in the embattlement of Biden with approximately ninety criminal indictments.
Curiously, when Trump was pitted against then Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 elections, she preemptively suspected potential deceptive strategies. Notwithstanding, due to Harris’ inexperience and Trump’s previous presidency, albeit marred by legal confrontations, he emerged as the victor once more. This broad daylight shenanigan prompted the involvement of a Wisconsin nonprofit, filing a legal suit against suspected conspirators Elon Musk and his political compatriots.
The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, in affiliation with two voters, leveled accusations at Musk, his America PAC while also implicating United States of America Inc., a Musky enterprise. The collective charge was the infringement of state election law via an audacious plot geared towards bribing Wisconsin residents into voting for their desired candidate. The root of the complaint stemmed from Musk’s activities in the lead-up to Wisconsin’s 2024 Supreme Court election.
As per the claimants, Musk’s strategy was to deliver checks worth a million dollars each, supplemented by his PAC’s independent initiative offering $100 cash payments to voters who signed their petitions and submitted personal information. The plaintiffs also noted that Wisconsin electoral law prohibits the use of value exceeding $1 to coax someone into voting or selecting a specific candidate. They further mentioned that such incentivized tactics stand in violation of the state’s prohibition on unsanctioned lotteries.
Interestingly, prior to carrying out the million-dollar giveaway people, Musk and America PAC were sued by state Attorney General Josh Kaul. The charge was the infringement of official inducements for voting. Regrettably, Kaul’s attempts to halt the event through legal ramiifications were thwarted. The county judge’s refusal to intervene promptly, the appeals court’s dismissal of further motions, and the state Supreme Court’s denial of the case were severe blows.
In the wake of Donald Trump’s 2024 victory, a low hum of doubt began to circulate, especially in response to the statements made by the president that called into question the sanctity of the elections. The verbal tribute he paid to Musk’s technology expertise and its significant contribution to securing a critical swing state in the election did nothing but spark further skepticism.
From Trump’s mouth came words of recognition for Musk, crediting him for his comprehensive understanding of the vote-counting computer systems. He audaciously revealed that it was this knowledge that tipped the scales, securing a victorious landslide in Pennsylvania. The blatant and unapologetic display of manipulation left a bad taste in the mouth of any fair-minded individual.
Beyond the borders of Wisconsin, Musk replicated identical strategies with sizable monetary incentives in other contesting states throughout the 2024 election. Promises of a daily million-dollar lottery were extended to those who would sign the petition drive led by his PAC. A referral reward of $47 was also put on the table for pushing others towards registration and signing.
However, prosecutors in Pennsylvania didn’t sit back and watch Musk play fast and loose with the election. They tried to halt his initiative, but their efforts hit a wall. A judge determined they hadn’t put up enough evidence to prove it was an illegal lottery, letting the initiative run its course until Election Day.
The persisting complaint in Wisconsin serves as a clarion call for curbing Musk and his allies from repeating these tactics in upcoming elections. Musk, on the other hand, has hinted at the possibility of scaling down his political expenditure. However, a return to the political arena in the future has not been ruled out.
Despite the earlier alliance, Musk and the Republicans aligned with Trump appear to have simmered their relationship recently. Musk’s call for the creation of a new political party coupled with his accusations of legislature’s betrayal only intensified the rift. His accusations were centered on their support for the beleaguered Trump’s legislative priorities.
A point of interest is the puzzling election results from Rockland County, New York. A traditionally Democratic fortress, the district saw Democrats securing the majority of victories. However, Harris’s nonexistence was blatantly apparent in the vote count, giving momentum to legitimate concerns about the legitimacy of the election results.
The strange inconsistency of the election results in this Democrat stronghold further intensifies the concerns related to the authenticity of Trump’s victory in 2024. It raises pertinent questions about the extent of interference in swing states during the election, putting a spotlight on the need for thorough examination and rectification to ensure transparency and the upholding of the democratic process.
