Javier Milei’s ‘Presidential Band’ Honors Charlie Kirk at Fiery Rock Concert in Buenos Aires

Argentine President Javier Milei turned a political rally into a full-blown cultural spectacle Monday night, delivering a one-of-a-kind rock concert in Buenos Aires that honored the late Charlie Kirk, slammed socialism, and reignited his party’s campaign heading into the October 26 midterm elections.

Roughly 15,000 supporters packed the venue as Milei, clad in his signature leather jacket, took the stage with his “Presidential Band” — a group composed of Liberty Advances lawmakers, political allies, and personal friends — to deliver a hard-rock set filled with patriotic themes, anti-leftist lyrics, and bold political commentary.

The event opened with a blistering concert performance before transitioning to the launch of Milei’s new book, The Making of a Miracle, a deep dive into the libertarian reforms and economic policies he’s enacted since taking office in 2023. Milei dedicated the book and the event to Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, who was assassinated earlier this year.

During the show, Milei modified the lyrics of several classic rock covers to blast Argentina’s socialist opposition, specifically targeting convicted former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, who is currently under house arrest for corruption. Satirical videos mocking left-wing politicians and media outlets played throughout the night.

In a powerful moment midway through the event, Milei paused the music to honor the victims of Hamas’ October 7 attack on Israel and called for the release of all hostages, including four Argentinians. “Israel is the bastion of the West,” he declared. “That’s why terrorists and the left paradoxically unite — they want to destroy Judeo-Christian values and Western civilization.”

To the shock and cheers of the crowd, Milei broke into an a cappella rendition of the Jewish folk song Hava Nagila, declaring, “I sing this because it bothers the left.” He followed it with an emotional performance of “Libre,” the anti-communist anthem by Nino Bravo, set to footage of the Berlin Wall’s fall and conservative figures targeted by political violence around the world.

Throughout the performance, Milei paid tribute to Charlie Kirk, showing footage of Kirk handing out MAGA hats on college campuses alongside imagery of the 2024 Trump assassination attempt in Pennsylvania, the 2018 stabbing of Jair Bolsonaro, the 2023 killing of Colombian Senator Miguel Uribe, and the suspicious death of Argentine prosecutor Alberto Nisman in 2015.

Milei’s musical finale was a pro-capitalist rewrite of Charly Garcia’s Tu Vicio, which he described as a message to Argentina’s youth. “You are the future. You are the ones who will make the West great again,” he shouted.

After a quick change into a suit, Milei returned to formally present his book, again honoring Charlie Kirk with emotional words: “They tried to assassinate Bolsonaro. They tried to assassinate Trump. They killed Uribe. And they took our beloved Charlie. But Charlie lives on — in every one of us.”

Milei’s high-energy rally comes just weeks after Liberty Advances faced setbacks in regional elections and the withdrawal of a key ally under corruption allegations. The president’s fiery performance — part concert, part campaign, part cultural battle cry — marked a full-throttle return to the political spotlight ahead of a pivotal vote for Argentina’s future.
