Jenny McCarthy Says Charlie Kirk’s Assassination Sparked a “Mass Awakening” and Brought Her to Deeper Faith
Actress and television personality Jenny McCarthy says the assassination of Charlie Kirk didn’t just shock the nation—it changed her life forever. In a deeply emotional interview, McCarthy credited the slain conservative leader with reigniting her relationship with God and leading her and her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, into a devout Christian walk.
Speaking on Culture Apothecary with Turning Point USA’s Alex Clark, McCarthy recounted the emotional toll of Kirk’s killing and how it shattered her—but ultimately led to spiritual transformation.
“Jesus Is My Homie”: A New Chapter of Faith
“I was so broken,” McCarthy told Clark. “When he was shot, I prayed and prayed and prayed. I was calling every doctor I possibly could, saying, ‘Tell me that this wound is something that could be healed.’ It was such a dark day.”
The former Playboy model-turned-TV judge said she had always considered herself a follower of Christ, raised in a Catholic household, but it wasn’t until the loss of Kirk that she fully surrendered to God. “Jesus is my homie,” she said, half-joking, before adding, “I started Bible study immediately. [Donnie and I] just have become devout since Charlie’s passing.”
From Hollywood to Faithful Servant
In a world where Hollywood celebrities tend to mock or avoid any public mention of Christian faith, McCarthy’s words carried weight. She didn’t just share grief—she shared conviction.
She called Kirk’s memorial a “mass awakening,” describing a ripple effect that she believes God used to wake up hearts across America.
“I feel like Charlie knew exactly what he was doing,” she said. “And I know he knew the sacrifice he was making.”
Kirk’s Legacy: Faith in Action
“He changed the world. He saved the world,” McCarthy added, reflecting on the reach and impact of Kirk’s work. “Imagine having that as your legacy… You brought all those people closer to Christ. What a gift.”
Her words echo what many in the conservative movement have said since Kirk’s assassination earlier this year: that his death, while tragic, stirred something far bigger than politics.
A surge of Christian recommitment has swept through segments of the youth conservative movement, and prominent influencers, celebrities, and ordinary Americans alike have shared how the tragedy led them to prayer, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
More Than Politics
While critics try to define Kirk by his activism, many of those who knew him or were touched by his message now point to something else—his faith.
And for Jenny McCarthy, a woman who spent years in the spotlight far from the church pews, Charlie Kirk’s death became a defining moment. Not just for her career, but for her soul.
“Some people have to work really hard to hear Him,” she said of God. “I’ve got a direct line.”
For many Americans, especially those grieving the loss of Kirk as more than a political figure, McCarthy’s message is a reminder of why he mattered—and why his legacy is still growing.
