Joe Biden in Hot Water: The Hidden Burisma Scandal Revealed
The Biden family’s well-documented ties to Burisma, a contentious gas company once probed by Ukrainian authorities for corruption, throws yet another complication into their shady history. The tendrils of this relationship extend deeply, with Hunter Biden reportedly pulling strings despite a distinct lack of expertise in the energy sector.
Joe Biden, during his tenure as vice president under Barack Obama, appears to have capitalized on his position to protect this dubious connection. He’s been caught red-handed threatening Ukraine with the loss of a billion-dollar American tax aid unless a prosecutor investigating Burisma was dismissed.
Republicans, maintaining their impeccable dedication to transparency, have consistently asked the pertinent questions about this scandal for years. Adding fuel to the fire, Senator Chuck Grassley of R-Iowa now reveals declassified files pointing to additional bribery allegations against Joe Biden and his scandal-mired son, Hunter.
These files feature two conversations from 2017 and 2019 involving confidential FBI informants. These individuals shared disturbing information regarding a potential international bribery ‘scheme’ linking the Biden family to Mykola Zlochevsky, the owner of Ukraine’s Burisma Holdings.
Even The New York Post has shed light on these revelations, detailing the contents of the documents released by Senator Grassley. Both documents catalog two interviews, from 2017 and 2019, where FBI sources unveiled a potential scheme of international bribery concerning the Bidens and Burisma’s owner, Zlochevsky.
A question that now overwhelmingly arises from this controversy—did the FBI ever make an attempt to investigate these serious allegations? It’s disheartening to consider they may not have, given the severity of the charges.
According to these FBI sources, Zlochevsky allegedly proposed shares and assured profits worth $100 million from gas sales to then-Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko. This offer was supposedly made to halt an Interpol investigation into Burisma, where Joe and Hunter Biden had purportedly invested money through a shell company based in Latvia.
The FBI sources further implicated Joe Biden in meeting with Poroshenko to safeguard the interests of Hunter and thereby Zlochevsky who, according to them, was remunerating Hunter Biden with $1 million annually from May 2014 to April 2019 to sit on Burisma’s board.
Meanwhile, another informant for the FBI alleged that two CIA officers escorted Zlochevsky to Yuriy Lutsenko, Ukraine’s prosecutor general. The officers purportedly claimed Zlochevsky was exempted from any trouble in the U.S. They compelled Lutsenko to halt his investigation into Zlochevsky and to guarantee his safe return to Ukraine in exchange for a $3 million damage payment.
It does not stop there. Allegations of various business dealings involving the Bidens have also emerged. ‘We aren’t asserting the truth of these allegations—what we demand to know is how thoroughly the FBI investigated these claims, and their final judgment,’ says Senator Grassley.
Another 2017 FBI document alleges that ‘Joseph Biden would’ act in favor of ‘Burisma Holding’s issues around the World while POROSHENKO would protect ZLOCHEVSKY.’
In an earlier document released by Grassley, an informant claimed that both Joe and Hunter Biden accepted a $5 million bribe from Zlochevsky to shield Burisma from potential corruption investigations. That informant was later found guilty of making false statements and sentenced to prison.
Moreover, it has been established that Biden, during his tenure as VP, mounted pressure on Ukrainian officials in December 2015, putting a billion-dollar U.S. loan guarantee at risk to secure the dismissal of a Ukrainian prosecutor. This was achieved after the parliament voted for it months later.
Joe Biden even boasted about how he manipulated American taxpayer money to persuade Ukrainian officials to act according to his will with regards to Burisma. This was confirmed during a hearing with FBI Director Kash Patel, in which Grassley mentioned that the FBI has never addressed whether they inspected the text messages, audio files, and financial records relating to the case.
Add to this, Hunter Biden was reportedly showered with a luxury car and a massive diamond amid his dealings in Ukraine—seemingly gifts for his involvement. As the curtain fell on Biden’s presidency, Hunter remained tangled in a tax case involving payments from Burisma. Just as things looked grim, Joe Biden conveniently issued a presidential pardon for all of Hunter’s committed crimes.
