Joe Biden’s Confused Reign Comes Under Scrutiny

Dr. Kevin O’Connor, who once took care of former President Joe Biden’s health needs, is preparing to testify before the House Oversight Committee regarding allegations of Biden’s declining health. Following President Trump’s reported cancellation of milestone executive privilege for O’Connor, the House Oversight Committee issued a subpoena for O’Connor to provide his testimony. This subpoena intended to shed light onto the allegations that Biden’s diminished cognitive abilities were being concealed during his term.

Biden’s candidacy for reelection suffered an abrupt end following his disastrously poor performance in a debate last year. This incident raised doubts about Biden’s mental sharpness due to his advanced age. However, post-tenure scrutiny of Biden intensified following his disclosure of being ill with aggressive prostate cancer and the release of books alluding to a cover-up of his purported mental decline while in office.

Republican figures indicate that if it is proven that Biden was in a compromised mental state during any span of his presidency, certain policies implemented by the White House ‘autopen’ might lose their legality. Yet Biden, with intolerable denial, rejected these assertions — branding them as ‘ridiculous and false.’ He strongly objected to the implication that he was not of sound mind while executing his presidential responsibilities.

President Trump, in his view of the situation, found no valid reason to assert executive privilege in light of the ‘unique and extraordinary nature of the matters under investigation,’ as conveyed by Gary Lawkowski, deputy counsel to the President, in a letter to O’Connor. It was determined that asserting the executive privilege wouldn’t align with national interest in this extraordinary situation.

Emphasizing further on the unusual nature of the situation, President Trump concluded that invoking executive privilege would not find its justification, especially when dealing with specific topics under the reach of the House Oversight Committee. Such issues propounded the assessment of Biden’s ability to perform his presidential role and the intriguing financial ties O’Connor maintained with the Biden family.

Dr. O’Connor, initially looking to delay his testimony, cited the importance of upholding the sanctity of doctor-patient confidentiality. He was hoping to postpone the proceedings until late July or early August, giving him adequate time to strike an agreement safeguarding patient confidentiality interests for himself and the former President Biden.

However, O’Connor’s plea for delaying his appearance didn’t find acceptance with the committee. They chose to reject his request, firmly stating that witnesses can exercise privilege on a question-by-question method. From the committee’s perspective, the expression of concerns about potential privileged information doesn’t warrant an outright refusal or delay to a congressional subpoena.

Biden, ever in painstaking denial, released a statement back in June attempting to set the record straight. Steadfastly, he asserted: ‘I made the decisions during my presidency. I made the decisions about the pardons, executive orders, legislation, and proclamations. Any suggestion that I didn’t is ridiculous and false.’ Yet, given the seriousness of the allegations, his words did little to pacify the skeptics.

Dr. O’Connor is bracing himself to face the committee’s interrogations on the upcoming Wednesday. His testimony awaits amidst a tremendous degree of anticipation.
