Kamala’s Stepdaughter Says Voting in NYC Mayoral Race Triggered ‘Trauma’ Over Trump Defeat

Ella Emhoff, stepdaughter of Kamala Harris, revealed on social media that casting her vote in the New York City mayoral primary left her feeling “trauma” — not because of the candidates, but because she was forced to walk into the same polling station where she had once voted for her stepmother, who lost decisively to President Donald Trump in the 2024 election.

“You know, I’m feeling a little trauma walking to the same polling station that I did to vote for Kamala,” Emhoff said in a video posted online. “I’m feeling a huge mix of emotions… I’m really nervous. I’m also so hopeful.”

After casting her ballot, Emhoff cheered the apparent Democrat nominee: open socialist Zohran Mamdani, declaring, “We did it… Let’s f***ing do this, guys.”

The comments come after Mamdani — a New York State assemblyman who has called to defund the police, freeze rents, and divert city money into government-run supermarkets and taxpayer-funded gender surgeries — effectively clinched the Democrat nomination in deep-blue New York City. Mamdani has earned praise from Sen. Bernie Sanders and other far-left figures for his upset victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Even Cuomo, who resigned in disgrace amid multiple harassment allegations, conceded graciously, stating, “Tonight is his night. He deserved it. He won.”

Emhoff’s emotional commentary sparked mockery from critics, who pointed to the privilege of lamenting “trauma” over walking into a voting booth while championing a candidate who has praised Hamas financiers and refuses to recognize Israel’s right to exist.

President Trump’s supporters were quick to note the irony: while New Yorkers face rising crime and economic decline, Kamala’s stepdaughter is triggered by memories of losing to Trump — and doubling down by backing a candidate even further to the left.
