Kash Patel Reveals China May Have Plotted To Flood U.S. With Fake Mail-In Ballots In 2020
FBI Director Kash Patel has revealed newly declassified intelligence that raises serious concerns about a possible Chinese operation to undermine the 2020 U.S. election using counterfeit documents and mass-produced fake ballots.
According to Patel, intelligence gathered in mid-2020 suggested the Chinese Communist Party may have manufactured thousands of fake U.S. driver’s licenses—many intercepted by border officials—and explored ways to exploit America’s mail-in ballot system. The scheme, according to internal memos, was intended to sow chaos and potentially tilt the election outcome.
Patel has now delivered these materials to Congress, specifically Senate Judiciary Chair Chuck Grassley, demanding accountability for what he called “evidence the American people were never allowed to see.” He claims the intelligence was buried by officials who feared the political consequences of disclosing foreign interference before the election.
“This was a deliberate cover-up,” Patel said. “We had credible evidence of a CCP-linked effort to manufacture fake identities and potentially use them to manipulate our election system. But instead of investigating it fully, it was shelved.”
The FBI has located documents which detail alarming allegations related to the 2020 U.S. election, including allegations of interference by the CCP.

The documents reportedly outline CCP-linked networks producing and distributing fraudulent ID materials in the lead-up to November 2020—alongside intercepted shipments of fake ballots flagged by Customs officials. While the intelligence was never presented to the public in full, Patel believes it was a missed opportunity to expose foreign influence in real time.
The FBI, under prior leadership, denied finding conclusive evidence of foreign-backed ballot fraud in 2020. But Patel’s disclosures suggest that deeper leads were either ignored or suppressed.
“This isn’t about re-litigating the past,” he said. “It’s about protecting the next election. The American people deserve transparency, not silence.”
Congressional oversight is now underway, with calls mounting for a full investigation into whether foreign actors—particularly China—were closer to breaching America’s election system than previously admitted.
