Kash Patel Says Minneapolis School Shooting ‘Was An Act Of Domestic Terrorism’

FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed Thursday that the mass shooting at a Catholic school in Minneapolis was a targeted act of domestic terrorism fueled by religious hatred and antisemitic extremism.

Patel said the gunman, 23-year-old Robin Westman—a trans-identifying male born Robert Westman—left behind a manifesto and videos revealing deeply disturbing motives and a clear ideological agenda. According to the FBI, Westman harbored intense hostility toward Catholics, Jews, and conservatives, including President Donald Trump.

“Subject left multiple anti-Catholic, anti-religious references both in his manifesto and written on his firearms,” Patel said in a post. “Subject expressed hatred and violence toward Jewish people, writing ‘Israel must fall,’ ‘Free Palestine,’ and using explicit language related to the Holocaust. He wrote an explicit call for violence against President Trump on a firearm magazine.”

Patel also made clear that the full weight of federal counter-terrorism resources would be used to investigate and deter future attacks.

Chilling Writings, Violent Threats

Authorities have revealed that Westman left behind pages of hateful rhetoric and violent fantasies. In one YouTube video uploaded just hours before the massacre, phrases like “Where is your God?” and “6 million wasn’t enough” were scrawled across the shooter’s weapons—an unmistakable reference to the Holocaust and religious hatred.

Previously uncovered writings show Westman referring to Jews as “entitled, penny-sniffing k***s,” while stating, “If I will carry out a racially motivated attack, it would be most likely against filthy Zionist jews.”

In a twisted irony, Westman’s attack took place during a Catholic Mass, where young children were praying. Two were murdered. Seventeen more were injured. Among those harmed were 14 children, many still in critical condition.

Trans Regret, Mental Spiral

In his journal, Westman also expressed bitter regret over his transgender identity. “I am tired of being trans, I wish I never brain-washed myself,” he wrote. He also revealed a deep personal conflict, saying, “I know I am not a woman but I definitely don’t feel like a man.”

Westman had officially changed his name to “Robin” while still a minor, with his mother signing the legal request. Authorities say his mother worked at Annunciation Catholic School until retiring in 2021. Westman was also a former student at the school.

Second Christian School Shooting by Trans Shooter in Two Years

The Annunciation attack mirrors another shooting in March 2023, when a trans-identifying female gunned down six victims at The Covenant School in Nashville. That shooter, like Westman, had written extensively about her motives—but federal agencies withheld her writings from the public.

FBI Director Patel has taken a very different approach in the Minneapolis case, labeling the shooting as “a hate crime targeting Catholics” and vowing full transparency and prosecution.

The FBI is continuing its investigation into Westman’s background, manifesto, and online footprint. Authorities say additional evidence is still being examined, and that more federal warrants may be issued in the coming days.
