The driver accused of sparking this calamitous collision on Rock Quarry Road is now confronting several charges. These allegations stem from a deliberate head-on collision that took place during the early hours of Saturday. The shocking incident was reported at approximately 7 a.m. at the intersection of Rock Quarry Road and Fox Ridge Manor.

The man in question is a 33-year-old named Andersen Douglas Singleton who, according to arrest warrants, was in the company of his spouse while supposedly executing the intentional crash. It is purported that Singleton diverted his vehicle into oncoming traffic, leading to a frontal collision with another vehicle which had two occupants.

The dangerous situation was witnessed by Jorge Bravo, who provided a dash cam recording of the ordeal to WRAL News. He expressed his sense of awe recounting the event, categorizing the moment as one of tremendous shock. His recollection includes rushing towards the scene following the collision – an incident he could hardly digest due to its alarming nature.

Bravo’s dash cam provided an up-close perspective of the collision, capturing the shocking moment from mere yards away on the adjacent Southgate Drive. He was one of the first people on the scene. This is where one of the drivers involved began communicating with him.

The driver in question, alleged to be Singleton, explained his grim intentions to Bravo. Reportedly, he mentioned that he had been trying to take his own life and that of his wife due to persistent marital discord, an admission that would further heighten the severity of established charges.

The aftermath of the deadly collision resulted in injuries to four individuals – Andersen Douglas Singleton, his spouse, and the two men in the vehicle hit by Singleton’s car. All of these injured persons were provided immediate medical attention and taken to WakeMed for further treatment.

Those involved in the incident were gravely harmed but are forecasted to recover over time according to medical professionals. Both sets of passengers were severely injured, yet are expected to eventually recuperate and regain their health.

Legal repercussions for Singleton include multiple charges. The extent of these counts includes two counts of assault with a lethal weapon with the intent to cause grievous harm, assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill, incautious and reckless driving, and driving against traffic as noted by patrolling officers.

Authorities have ruled out any form of impairment as a contributing factor in this tragic event. After investigating officers conducted their assessments, they concluded that Singleton was not under the influence of any substances which could have impaired his ability to drive safely.

Following medical treatment, Singleton has been discharged from WakeMed hospital and is now incarcerated without the possibility of obtaining bail. The gravity of the charges against him and the severity of the crash makes it impossible for him to be considered for release on bond.

Singleton awaits his day in court, which is scheduled for the following Monday. The judicial proceedings will further shed light on this tragic incident on Rock Quarry Road. The result of the court proceedings is keenly anticipated by the local public and the victims’ families.
