‘Maryland Man’ Kilmar Abrego Garcia Belonged To A Biden-Backed Group That Called For Abolishing ICE

Kilmar Abrego Garcia — an illegal alien, suspected MS-13 gang member, and alleged human smuggler — was falsely referred to as a “Maryland man” by Democrat officials after his deportation. In reality, Abrego Garcia was a member of CASA, a radical leftwing organization that has received over $5 million in funding from the Biden administration and actively campaigns to shield illegal immigrants from deportation.

CASA, which openly identified Abrego Garcia as one of its members, has demanded that he be returned to the U.S., even after Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) removed him to his native El Salvador. In an April statement, the group outrageously accused ICE of violating a court order and claimed the deportation amounted to putting him in “grave personal danger.”

CASA didn’t stop there — they even alleged that the Trump administration “disappeared” Abrego Garcia, a narrative they continue to push alongside his wife, who recently appeared at a press conference backed by CASA activists.

CASA’s ties to the Biden administration run deep. Since 2022, the group has raked in more than $5 million in federal taxpayer funding, including a $250,000 grant from the Department of Homeland Security for so-called “citizenship preparation.” At the same time, CASA has promoted a far-left agenda to abolish ICE, block cooperation between local law enforcement and federal immigration agents, and protect illegal aliens from identification or removal.

The organization operates multiple offices across the mid-Atlantic, including in Maryland, where Abrego Garcia had been living. CASA offers membership tiers that provide deportation defense and other services, though it’s unclear what specific benefits Abrego Garcia accessed.

CASA in Action, the group’s political arm, openly endorses far-left candidates and policies, boasting about mobilizing “Black, Latine, Afro-descendent, Indigenous, and Immigrant voters” to elect what they call “progressive change leaders.”

Despite being deported, Abrego Garcia has since been returned to the United States to face trial on federal human smuggling charges. However, sources say he will likely be deported again before the trial concludes — this time to a third country willing to receive him, rather than El Salvador.

The Biden administration’s financial backing of CASA — an organization that defends suspected gang members and works to undermine federal immigration enforcement — underscores the deep disconnect between this White House’s rhetoric on border security and the reality of its policies.
