Minnesota DHS Workers Blame ‘Dishonest’ Gov. Tim Walz for Massive Fraud: ‘100 Percent Responsible’
More than 400 employees from Minnesota’s Department of Human Services are publicly accusing Democrat Governor Tim Walz of enabling and covering up a massive fraud scheme that reportedly funneled millions of taxpayer dollars out of the state.
In a statement posted to the DHS Workers’ official X account over the weekend, the employees claimed that they had alerted Walz to fraudulent activity early in the process, only to face intimidation, retaliation, and suppression from the governor’s office and his political allies.
“Tim Walz is 100% responsible for massive fraud in Minnesota,” the post began. “We let Tim Walz know of fraud early on, hoping for a partnership in stopping fraud but no, we got the opposite response. Tim Walz systematically retaliated against whistleblowers using monitoring, threats, repression, and did his best to discredit fraud reports.”
They also accused Walz of weakening oversight mechanisms by disempowering the Office of the Legislative Auditor and enabling agencies to disregard audit findings. “Media and politicians supporting Tim Walz or the DFL-agenda attacked whistleblowers who were trying to raise red flags,” the post continued. “It’s scary, isolating and left us wondering who we can turn to.”
According to earlier reporting from Breitbart News, much of the alleged fraud centers around Medicaid funds supposedly meant for autism care. Dozens of clinics — many tied to the Somali community in Minneapolis — are under investigation for billing the state for autism treatments that may never have taken place.
Some of the stolen funds, investigators believe, were funneled overseas to Somalia and potentially used to support terrorist organizations including Al-Shabaab, a group linked to Al-Qaida.
House Majority Whip Tom Emmer (R-MN) has called for a full investigation into the allegations and the suspected diversion of state money to terrorist groups.
Despite mounting evidence, Walz has refused to take accountability, critics say. The DHS workers’ post blasted his character, stating, “Fundamentally, Tim Walz is dishonest, lacks ethics and integrity, has poor leadership abilities, and has never taken any accountability for his role in fraud.”
The scandal continues to grow as pressure mounts on Minnesota’s leadership to address what may be one of the largest fraud cases in state history.
