MS-13 Member Serving Time For Murder Sues Trump To Be ‘Recognized’ As A Woman

An imprisoned MS-13 gang member — convicted of kidnapping and murdering a 14-year-old — is now suing President Donald Trump and the Bureau of Prisons, demanding to be legally “recognized” as a woman.

Oscar Contreras Aguilar, a known member of the violent transnational gang, operated under the alias “Atrevido” and was arrested in 2017 for his role in the 2016 murders of 17-year-old Edvin Mendez, believed to be in a rival gang, and 14-year-old Sergio Triminio, who MS-13 members suspected of cooperating with police. In 2024, after years in prison, Contreras Aguilar began identifying as “Fendi G. Skyy” and claiming to be female.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump’s administration and federal prison officials have “refused to recognize” his gender identity, accusing the Bureau of Prisons of discrimination against so-called transgender women housed in male facilities. Contreras Aguilar claims these inmates face “harsher, more degrading treatment” than other prisoners.

Before declaring a female identity, Contreras Aguilar filed multiple complaints alleging threats on his life — including attempted murders by fellow MS-13 members — because he had been an FBI and Suffolk County Police informant in 2016 and 2017. In 2022, he sued then-Attorney General Merrick Garland, claiming his 21-year sentence was the result of a plea deal tied to his cooperation with authorities. That case was dismissed in early 2024, after which he publicly changed his name and gender identity.

Now, from behind bars, this convicted murderer and gang member is attempting to use the courts to force the federal government to recognize his claimed gender identity — even as the families of his young victims continue to live with the consequences of his crimes.
