Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu formally nominated President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize on Monday, citing his leadership and historic achievements in advancing peace in the Middle East.

During a high-level meeting at the White House, Netanyahu personally handed President Trump a copy of the letter he sent to the Nobel Committee endorsing the nomination.

“I want to express the appreciation and admiration, not only of all Israelis, but of the Jewish people and many admirers around the world, for your leadership,” Netanyahu said. “Your leadership of the free world, of a just cause, and your pursuit of peace and security, particularly now in the Middle East, has been extraordinary.”

Netanyahu praised Trump’s success in orchestrating the Abraham Accords, a groundbreaking series of normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab nations. He added that the president’s efforts continue to bring stability across the region.

“You are forging peace as we speak, one country and one region at a time,” Netanyahu said. “This nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize is well-deserved—and you should get it.”

President Trump accepted the letter with gratitude, responding, “Coming from you in particular, this is very meaningful.”

The meeting came just weeks after the U.S. and Israel worked in concert to deliver a decisive blow to Iran’s nuclear program. The joint operation—referred to as the “12-Day War”—saw Israeli forces and U.S. B-2 bombers and submarines target and destroy Iran’s fortified nuclear facilities, including the infamous Fordo complex.

Netanyahu’s nomination adds to growing international recognition of Trump’s diplomatic victories. Last month, Pakistan also nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize in acknowledgment of his “pivotal leadership” in defusing tensions during the India-Pakistan crisis.

With multiple nominations from world leaders and a record of successful peace negotiations and strategic deterrence, Trump’s candidacy for the Nobel Peace Prize continues to gain serious momentum.
