Police Chief Chased By Anti-ICE Protesters In Minneapolis

Minneapolis Police Chief Brian O’Hara was chased by anti-ICE protesters Friday night during an eruption of street unrest tied to the fatal ICE-involved shooting earlier this week.

Video footage captured by a FRONTLINES TPUSA journalist showed a swarm of demonstrators confronting officers who were escorting a squad car out of a protest zone. As the crowd advanced, police were bombarded with snowballs and expletives. One officer appeared to be shoved in the back. The group then turned its attention toward Chief O’Hara and his officers, shouting, “You better fking run,” “fk you,” and “p**sies,” as the officers quickly moved away without making arrests.

Protesters chanted and jeered as the officers retreated. One officer could be heard yelling, “Let’s go! Let’s go! Let’s go!” as the team tried to exit the area.

The demonstration was one of several that have broken out since ICE officer Jonathan Ross fatally shot Renee Nicole Good on Wednesday. The Department of Homeland Security maintains that the shooting was justified and describes it as an act of self-defense. “This was an act of domestic terrorism by an anti-ICE agitator,” DHS said in a statement.

Footage from the ICE agent’s phone showed Good’s wife, Rebecca, antagonizing officers and yelling “drive baby, drive” moments before Good accelerated and clipped the officer, prompting him to open fire. In the moments after the shooting, a bloodied and distraught Rebecca blamed herself, saying, “It’s my fault. I made her come down here.”

Despite video evidence, demonstrators have insisted the shooting was unjustified and have lashed out at both ICE and local law enforcement. Some protesters outside a vigil for Good targeted Minneapolis police, even though MPD officers were not involved in the federal operation. “Nazis! Nazi sympathizers!” one screamed.

Chief O’Hara has called the incident “entirely predictable” given the political tensions surrounding ICE in Minneapolis. He called for de-escalation and an independent investigation but has since become a direct target of activist rage. Anti-ICE protests are expected to continue throughout the weekend in cities across the country.
