In recent times, we’ve seen an alarming wave of pro-terrorist sentiments infiltrating the very fabric of our college institutions, finding a loud voice through the shocking events that unfolded post October 7, 2023. It is indeed a distressing reality that the Democratic party has not only refrained from objecting to this movement but has extended its support. Over the last year, the echoes of this troubling narrative have reverberated through the campuses, calling for a second intifada, and found resonance in the streets of major cities like New York and Washington, D.C. On these streets, throngs of anti-American demonstrators, waving Hamas flags, have filled the air with their disconcerting clamor.

The aftermath of this surge in pro-terrorism wave is grim and visibly violent. Disturbing accounts of killings have surfaced. Amidst the hustle and bustle of downtown Washington D.C., two unsuspecting souls – Sarah Milgrim, a Jewish American, and her partner, Yaron Lischinsky, a German Christian who were in the process of becoming engaged, suffered a brutal assault. The culprit was a radical leftist with the intent to ‘liberate Palestine’.

The incident unfolded horrifically. Sarah, in a desperate attempt to escape the impending doom, crawled on the ground, grappling with unimaginable pain. While she was defenseless and vulnerable, the perpetrator finished his appalling act by shooting her in the back, making the ghastly scene akin to an execution.

In another grim account, Mohamed Soliman, an undocumented immigrant from Egypt, reportedly tried to perpetrate an attack on American citizens who were peacefully utilizing their First Amendment rights at a hostage-support march in downtown Boulder, Colorado. This prompted a swift response from the Trump administration.

In no uncertain terms, Soliman was charged with a federal hate crime by the Department of Justice, ensuring he would be detained in the local prison, unable to escape the grasp of the law. Simultaneously, the Department of Homeland Security took decisive steps to secure Soliman’s family, who all were in the country without proper documentation, for immediate expulsion.

It raises questions about the reaction from the left and their media counterparts. They purportedly drew sympathy, but it was for the wrong individuals. In the leading coverage of this disturbing event, USA Today left out crucial details about Soliman’s family. It was conveniently forgotten that they had breached their visa restrictions and the family-head had even attacked American citizens using makeshift explosive devices.

Furthermore, the deportations, which were deemed necessary reactions to attempted homicide, illegal visa breaches, and the adoption of an anti-Western mindset by foreigners on American soil, were blocked by a federal judge. It seems the sympathy did not cease with the media but extended to the judicial corridors. Was it an arbitrary move? The innocent victims and law-abiding citizens might think so.

Considering the scenario, it would not be entirely unjustified for Americans to seek asylum from such foreign threats, like Soliman and his family. Yet, they find themselves in a disturbing victimhood due to the lack of discernment among political leaders about what constitutes right and wrong.

On the ill-fated day of October 7, Hamas-affiliated terrorists claimed the lives of forty-five Americans. Unfortunately, their Western sympathizers exhibit no inclination to prevent further bloodshed on our own streets. This bitter truth raises a serious concern about where our society is heading.

In this somber reality, the discrepancy in leadership stances cannot be overstated. Representatives from the Trump administration have publicly declared their determination to put an end to such terrorist activities. On the other end of the political spectrum, the Democrats seem willing to gamble on these critical national security issues.

In these trying times, it is important that all political parties shelve their differences and stand united against radical ideologies that threaten peace and stability. The cost of inaction and misplaced sympathy is far too heavy and we, as a nation, cannot afford to bear it.

The path ahead might be fraught with challenges, but it is essential that we initiate a collective effort to curb radicalism from seeping further into our society. Siding with destructive ideologies and terrorists can never lead to progress; sanity and peace should be our only guiding principles.

It should be our moral obligation to ensure that the incidents like the one with Sarah and Yaron should never be repeated. Their tragic tale should serve as a haunting reminder for us, motivating our will and efforts to identify and irradicate hatred.

In conclusion, it is high time that we make a clear and bold statement against pro-terrorism sympathies. Parties across the political spectrum must unite in this mission for the sake of national security and peace. The lives of all citizens matter, and they must be protected at all costs.
