Groups of dissenters are preparing to mark the birthday of Elon Musk, currently the wealthiest individual globally and former high-ranking advisor to the White House DOGE, with a series of ‘End Musk’s Reign’ gatherings set for June 28. In recent times, Musk has been navigating the waters of reestablishing his fractured ties with President Donald Trump following a series of individual attacks and warnings fired across the influential social media platforms. After relinquishing his influential position in the DOGE last month, the CEO of Tesla has been trying to reestablish his positive standing with Trump. A movement named ‘To dethrone Tesla,’ mostly backed by common citizens, was initiated at the peak of Musk’s appointment as the leader of DOGE few months ago, and they’ve recently announced the ‘Global Day of Celebration To End Musk’s Reign’ – their most significant demonstration to date.
The ‘End Musk’s Reign’ campaign and its widespread rallies throughout the United States and globally are essential know-how. Born on June 28, 1971, Elon Musk will be celebrating his 54th birthday on June 28, 2025. On leaving his advisor position with the Trump administration on May 30, where his role revolved around optimizing government expenses, Musk concluded his 130-day tenure as a ‘special government’ personnel.
Though he expressed his intentions of remaining a consultant for Trump, a very public and heated argument ensued between Trump and Musk on various social media platforms. Following the heated dispute, Musk seems to have switched his tactics towards displaying support for Trump. ‘To Dethrone Tesla’ calls upon people to divest from Tesla by selling their Tesla-owned vehicles and stocks and showing their disapproval at Tesla’s global locations.
This action is primarily driven by the public and is locally organized, operating without a recognized leader or an established organizational format. Demonstrations are underway across the United States and globally to take place outside Tesla dealerships and shopping centers on Elon Musk’s birthday, June 28. Their objective is to convey an unwavering message to Elon Musk and his allies, stating their persistence and refusal to back down.
They plan to laud their achievements as a group and reassert their commitment towards the arduous journey that lies ahead. ‘And what’s the birthday present for the Chief Oligarch? A global party delivering a compelling message: Time for Musk to Step Down,’ states the ‘To Dethrone Tesla’ campaign. While they acknowledge the end of Musk’s term with DOGE, the advocacy group ‘To Dethrone Tesla’ claims
‘Musk continues to maintain deep links with the Trump regime, further blurs the line with conspiratorial and totalitarian discourses, and leverages his vast wealth to manipulate government policies and meddle in global elections.’ As of the 18th of June, more than 50 ‘End Musk’s Reign’ demonstrations are inked throughout the United States, and a few are also set in Canada, United Kingdom and Finland.
Around 20 such rallies are slated along the West Coast, with roughly a dozen planned on the East Coast. Despite several Tesla outlets in New Jersey, there are no public protests scheduled in the Garden State as of June 18. The nearest scheduled rally, however, is being arranged at Tesla West Chester, located in Pennsylvania.
