Rapper d4vd Arrested In Connection With Dismembered Teen Case
d4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, was arrested Thursday on suspicion of murder months after a 14-year-old girl’s dismembered remains were discovered inside a vehicle linked to him.
The Los Angeles Police Department said Burke, 21, was taken into custody in connection with the death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. He is currently being held without bail as investigators prepare to present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office for potential charges.
Authorities allege that the victim’s remains were found in September 2025 inside bags in an abandoned Tesla that had been taken to a city impound lot. Workers reportedly flagged the vehicle after noticing a strong odor, prompting a search that led to the discovery.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Rivas had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore more than a year earlier. According to reports, she was last seen leaving her home on April 5, 2024.
Burke’s legal team denied the allegations, stating that evidence will show he was not responsible for the girl’s death. They emphasized that no formal charges have yet been filed and no grand jury indictment has been returned.
The artist, who rose to prominence on TikTok and later signed with major record labels, initially continued touring after the remains were discovered. He canceled the rest of his tour once the victim was publicly identified.
The case remains under active investigation as prosecutors review evidence to determine whether to formally charge Burke.
