SNL Brings Hilarious Twist to Trump, Zelenskyy Meeting

In the wake of the remarkable meeting between Donald Trump and Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the Saturday Night Live team brought their comedic spin to the event. Saturday Night Live’s recent episode started with an unusual interaction featuring Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Zelenskyy, adding a twist with the entrance of Elon Musk, impersonated by SNL veteran Mike Myers. This marked Myers’ triumphant return to SNL, having last featured on the show back in December 2015.

The comedic spin on the conference began with a witty voiceover introduction, ‘Yesterday, President Trump welcomed President Zelenskyy of Ukraine to the White House, and it couldn’t have gone any better. Those watching could feel the world take a sigh of relief. Here we present you with a recap of their historical press meet.’ Trump, impersonated by the cast, started with his usual flamboyance and a touch of sarcasm.

Adopting his alter ego as business mogul Trump, the SNL cast member introduced himself as the boss of Gaza Hotel and Casino and jokingly welcomed Zelenskyy into the ‘magnificent trap’. He went on to suggest that the trap was nothing but a mere setup, a setup for an attack on Zelenskyy which he would initiate without any justification.

As the Zelenskyy character attempted to respond, the audacious Vance, as played by another SNL cast member, suddenly intervened. Vance made a sarcastic complaint, arguing that Zelenskyy failed to credit them as being attractive. He humorously exclaimed that Zelenskyy did not reference them as ‘handsome little boys’, a term of admiration noticeably absent from the conversation.

Trump, eager to agree, asserted they were indeed attractive, humorously attributing their matching ties to the Supreme Court’s decree. The sketch went further into the world of fantasy, with Trump playfully naming some Pokemon characters and mocking Putin for engaging in the game of Magic The Gathering, drawing a humorous comparison between the relations of US and Russia.

Vance, not to be outdone, asserted that he had navigated the state of Ukraine via Google Maps and expressed his disdain for the situation there. Drawing upon his personal hero, Willy Wonka, he quoted, ‘You broke the rules. You get nothing. You lose. Good day, sir!’

Trump, noticing Zelenskyy’s casual attire, humorously criticized him for arriving at the White House dressed in a T-shirt and jeans, likening him to a ‘trashy individual’. Then came Musk, portrayed by Myers, wearing a casual outfit—an obvious contradiction of Trump’s earlier complaint—yet receiving praise from the Trump character for his ‘official and respectful’ attire.

The sketch then unveiled a tongue-in-cheek initiative called the Department of Undoing Child Healthcare and Education or DOUCHE for short. Amidst the laughter, ‘Trump’ was delighted to have fired a black general and a female admiral during the week, and shared that in addition to DOGE, they were launching DOUCHE.

Musk posited that DOUCHE would ensure a thorough cleanup, drawing a shared chuckle from the audience. The sketch’s ending added another layer of humor, referencing the underwhelming release of the ‘Epstein Files’.

‘Trump’, in his bid to wrap up an ‘amazing week’, revealed they were set to release the Epstein Files. In declaring that the US would view every name from A to S; he subtly declared no name starting with the letter T – a sly jest at his own expense.

In reality, Trump, Vance, and Zelenskyy had their meeting on Friday at the White House. However, reports suggest that what was supposed to be a fruitful exchange turned into a heated argument, with Trump and Vance exclusively pushing Russian narratives and pressing Ukraine to strike a deal.

Trump and Vance also made a case that Zelenskyy lacked gratitude towards US aid. This real-life account, matched with the parallel universe staged by SNL, made for engaging viewing and offered both a satirical and serious perspective on international politics.
