Stefanik Rips Hochul For Backing ‘Raging Antisemite Communist’ Zohran Mamdani
Rep. Elise Stefanik torched New York Governor Kathy Hochul on Monday for endorsing radical NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani, branding the self-described socialist as a “raging antisemite communist” and slamming Hochul for aligning herself with far-left extremism.
In an explosive interview on Fox & Friends, Stefanik declared, “Kathy Hochul is the worst governor in America, and it was only a matter of time before she bent the knee for this raging antisemite communist.” Stefanik added that Hochul now fully “owns” Mamdani’s fringe agenda, which includes defunding the police, abolishing prisons, legalizing prostitution, and eliminating private health insurance.
“She owns all of his heinous positions that will make New York less affordable and more dangerous,” Stefanik said, pointing to sky-high taxes, surging crime, and a mass exodus of residents. “They’re not leaving because of the weather. They’re leaving because of the policies.”
The rising GOP star didn’t hold back, accusing Hochul of “putting jet fuel on commie Mamdani” and embracing the radical policies destroying the Empire State. “She’s embraced tax hikes, defunding the police, government-run grocery stores, and decriminalizing sex work,” Stefanik warned. “It’s absolute insanity.”
Stefanik’s remarks come on the heels of her launching the “Save New York” PAC, a vehicle aimed at flipping seats statewide in 2025 and laying the foundation for her expected 2026 gubernatorial run. With GOP challengers like Rep. Mike Lawler declining to enter the race, Stefanik is now widely viewed as the frontrunner to take on Hochul.
She pointed to recent polling that shows Hochul hemorrhaging support in key areas like Long Island and among independents. “Sixty percent of voters on Long Island want someone new,” she said. “No state moved more to the Republican direction than New York in 2024.”
Stefanik argued that voters are waking up to the Democratic Party’s hard-left shift. “The vast majority of New York City and New York residents do not want communism. They do not want antisemitism,” she said.
As 2026 approaches, Stefanik is positioning herself not just as a candidate, but as a defender of sanity against what she called “a collapsing Democrat Party hijacked by extremists.”
