The capital city of Iran, Tehran, is presently grappling with a formidable and imminent threat of running out of water, prompted by a prolonged five-year drought alongside decades of poor management. The Amir Kabir dam to the north of Tehran, a chief source of the city’s water, has witnessed a dramatic drop in its capacity, marking the lowest level recorded in history.
